Beautiful Vintage house

Beautiful Vintage house totally renewed, with convenient rooms, bathrooms and all the right house appliances. Close to Downtown Dallas located at the south of the city. Nice and convenient.

10 of us stayed at the Roux House for a martial arts tournament at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and have our own beds. The kitchen was well appointed and we had family style meals at the large table. Beds were comfy, linens were clean, and there were plenty of towels. The exterior may give you pause, but the interior has been renovated. The host is very responsive to questions and incredibly helpful. Overall it was a lovely stay in an updated older home with all the best quirks (squeaky floors, lavish staircase, latching windows, etc.) that only added to its charm.

This is a beautiful historic home. Everything was spotless. The beds are comfortable. The traffic and trolley are loud at night, but there are two portable fans at the house that you can use for blocking out the noise. We went during July, so it was hot, but all three floors were cool and comfortable. The owner left plenty of toiletries to use, which is awesome. It is a 20-25 minute drive to DFW airport. The owner left plenty of detailed instructions and was available for questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Disgusting Roach Problem, Misleading Host, and Terrible Experience

At first glance, the house looked clean, but shortly after checking in we were disgusted to find a dead roach on the stairs. We immediately contacted the host, who said pest control had been done just last week and offered to send someone out. They also casually said roaches are "normal for Texas," which was shocking and completely unacceptable.Wanting to confirm the truth, we asked for documentation and discovered that pest control had actually been done months ago, not recently. We felt completely misled.The next day, we saw two more live roaches inside the home. It was gross, unsettling, and made us question the entire cleanliness and safety of the property. When we followed up with the host again, they were dismissive, repeated the excuse that roaches are normal, and offered no refund, no apology, and no accountability.There is nothing normal or acceptable about finding roaches, dead or alive, in a vacation rental. This experience was far below any reasonable standard. We were extremely disappointed and would absolutely not recommend this property to anyone.But hey, if you agree with the host that having roaches in your home is just part of “normal” Texas living, then maybe this place is for you. Otherwise, stay far away.

Amazing 100 year old home! Well taken care of and stunning decorations. Comfortable beds, good pressure on showers, and all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend for large groups of people in Dallas!

Listing was true to its word and perfect for our group. We had 10 employees in town for a show at the convention center. Less than 2 miles away with some great restaurants in walking distance. Plenty of room in the home. We would definitely come back.

Spacious Bliss

This rental is perfect for a large group. We all had a comfortable bed to rest after being out reach day during our Dallas stay. Only issue to report is traffic noise in the bedrooms facing the front of the house.

Just What Our Team Needed

I made the arrangements for our team to stay here while they were in town for a conference. Being the middleman, I found it very easy to work with Christopher. The team gave rave reviews for the property. It was great to have a community space for them to gather and debrief their time at the conference. That suite in the attic was a highlight for the two ladies who shared that area.

First thing we noticed, the house was very clean. The house was more than spacious for 4 couples & 2 children (10 total). The beds were very comfortable. 4 total bathrooms. Plenty of towels. Our 2 rental cars had enough room in the back parking lot. But, be careful and take your time going up & down the ramp. Only a few blocks from a very nice restaurant artsy area, which we went often. Communication with the owner was outstanding, as you could tell he really cares about his property and the people the rent his house. Definitely 100% stay here again.
