One of the must see places in the island. The cave temple of Dambulla dates back to third century BC. It is a short hike upto the hill and smell the culture of Buddhists. It is also home for some marvelous statues and paintings.

The staff and management is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were subpar but clean enough. No aircon which was fine but no hot water either. The showers were non functional and no buckets were provided till requested. The property is isolated and tough to find. However for the price and for someone ...
