Home of the outback and the glorious sights of Middle Earth, the South Pacific is a spectacular destination for the romantic or the explorer. Your journey begins the moment you step out of your hotel room. Get a taste of local cuisine at the Mindil Beach Sunset Market or sample some of Perth's famous wines in Australia. Immerse yourself in Aboriginal and Maori culture that gives the region its character. Relax in one of New Zealand's famous hot pools before catching a tour of the "Lord of the Rings" filming locations. Excellent rates and specials are available on aerial tours if you book ahead of time.

If you're looking for something special, the South Pacific has a lot to offer. Try out Zorbing, a tumbling downhill ride in an inflatable ball. Strap in to a full body harness and hang hundreds of feet in the air on a SkyWalk. Make your reservations ahead of time to secure your spot and great prices in these one-of-a-kind adventures. Put your feet back on the ground with a walk through one of the region's numerous national parks. It's the only place on Earth you can get up close and personal with a kangroo in its natural habitat.

The South Pacific is also home to some of the world's top diving spots. The Great Barrier Reef boasts thousands of aquatic species. Off the coast of Tasmania, there are more than 70 shipwrecks to find and explore. Back on land, catch a guided tour of the great Australian outback or go spelunking in Waitomo Caves. New Zealand is often cited by spelunkers as having one of the best cave systems for exploring and taking in magnificent sights. Discount rates and package deals make it easy to soak in the sun on a budget.

A paradise of surf and sunset romance awaits in the South Pacific. You'll be swept into the easy-going attitude of the locals in no time. As diverse culturally as it is geographically, you'll never run out of places to explore or things to do in the South Pacific.

"Great location, great outlook over Hyde Park"
This hotel overlooks Hyde Park and has everything you would expect in a 5 star hotel. It is conveniently located close to the best shopping in Sydney, there is an underground railway station across the street and there are usually taxis waiting to whisk you away to wherever you need to go. The only negative about this hotel is that it is quite expensive compared to other hotels.

    Oaks on Collins

480 Collins Street, Melbourne - Map
"Not a bad location if shopping in the CBD"
Very small car park, no valet, no bag service available, room service average, food ok though, not enough staff on to cater to needs of customers, dodgy repair jobs to tiles and grout in showers, some fixtures in bathroom (if you can call it that, very small) missing, hole in painting in room. On a positive though, it was very clean. Noisy doors to rooms, squeaky and banged which woke me a lot during my stay. No in house movies, crappy Foxtel channels, very disappointed by this. IT appears all rooms have a pull out bed which would be handy for kids. Room had no windows to the outside, just a little walkway so not much natural light.
