![What was meant to be a quick stay in Koh Kong as we were crossing into Thailand, turned out to be almost a week long adventure.  We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of untaped natural attractions that Koh Kong had to offer.  From bushwhacking jungle treks to pristine waterfalls to the largest intact mangroves in Cambodia, Koh Kong is definitely a place worth exploring.

The mangroves are located about 15 minutes by motorbike from the main road in Koh Kong.  We paid $1 for parking, along with a small entrance fee into the park. The boardwalks through the mangroves were impressive and well designed. "Very good hotel, beach and service The bar, restaurant on the beach is fantastic, everyone try to do his best, special thank to Rich!!! Of course Sihanoukvillle and the roads are under construction it will take some time but when finished it will be convenient for everyone... Anyway you can spend a week in this hotel enjoying his restaurant, Captain Mike restaurant not far away and the islands in front.. "

"Owners were wonderful from the time of booking. Sent a tuk tuk to pick us up from the bus station. Greeted us on arrival with some drinks and great conversation. Rooms are very nicely decorated. Beds are extremely comfortable, big flat screen tv with tons of internet channels, bathroom is large and bright, stocked fridge with tea/coffee maker and large wardrobe for your belongings. "Absolutely appalling experience! The hotel prioritized an event, booking every room except ours. The event overtook the pool area with blaring music and screaming girls for over 5 hours, making it unusable. To make matters worse, we discovered uncleaned feces behind the toilet in our room and rats scurrying around the main pool area. "Spent two nights with my wife, the hotel in general was ok. We like the bungalows and each bungalow has its privacy. Two recommendations to the hotel: breakfast can start earlier (630 instead of 700 as many travel early morning) and better to install bednets in the room. Apart from that, Otres 1 is a great place! We love the beach."

"We stayed at Eden for 3 nights & it was beautiful. The staff are all super friendly & helpful. The food was lovely. Breakfast was a little limited on choice & coffee not great but everything else was great. As some one else mentioned the price advertised does not include tax so you pay more when the bill comes. But it is a small Island & understandable food & drink is going to be more expensive . I hope the Island remains it charm for many more years to come. "

"Rooms weren’t very clean, bathroom is a wet room that doesn’t dry out - so constantly have wet feet. Bathroom had not been cleaned for our arrival. I’d say even for budget backpacking this place was poor and I wouldn’t recommend it. The area is very local, quite loud and pretty dirty. I think staying at longset beach would be much nicer. "

"On arrival All seemed great, staff friendly, helpful, restaurant and food good, pool clean, I witness they keep it clean. Quite a big cabin, once you get the hang of the shower all good. Loved all the extras, water, toothbrush, razor, soaps ect. What I didn't like was my room look great when I arrived. When I went to bed, i realised the bedding wasn't changed over from the last person, yuk. Sand in the bed and stains. This was rectify the next morning and a apology. Sad I had to spend a night in dirt sheets. Unpleasant. I was also given a white towel with very heavy stains on it. That made me feel even more unhappy. Shame as the cabins are quite nice and the aircon works well. "
