Waterfront home on a real island in historic Detroit neighborhood! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but still within 20 mins of downtown and only 5 mins to Grosse Pointe. This is the city's best kept secret—a charming neighborhood surrounded by a series of canals. Where Venice meets the bayou, but with all the heart and soul of Detroit. Paddle board or kayak directly from your back yard to explore the canals or venture out to Lake St Clair. Bring your boat and the whole family!
Three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms mean plenty of room for larger groups. Downstairs you'll enjoy two spacious living areas, a dining room with extendable table to seat 12, an eat-in kitchen and a half bathroom. The oversized couch is a great option for additional sleeping, as well as the queen air mattress. Upstairs we have three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom with king bed has two spacious closets and an adjoining bathroom (shower, no tub) complete with original pink tiles. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a separate twin bed, comfortably sleeping three adults total. The third bedroom offers a twin bed as well as a twin bunkbed over a futon, accommodating up to 4 people. The second full bathroom is spacious with a double sink and shower/tub combo.
The entire house and yard is yours during your stay. We provide paddle boards and a kayak for guests to use as they please, at their own risk. There is a boat launch nearby with direct access so you can bring your boat and park it at the house during your stay! From the house you have direct access to Lake St Clair and the Detroit River.
You may pass through different types of neighborhoods on your way to the house, but rest assured this is the safest, well-kept neighborhood in the city! Most residents have lived here for decades (who would want to leave?!) and take great care of their homes and their neighbors.
