In most locations, the renter must be 25 yrs of age with a valid driver's license and a major credit card in his/her own name.
Each country and state has unique rules around car rental ages, but 21 is the regular minimum. Dollar drivers aged 20-24 will usually pay more due to a young driver surcharge and rental options will be limited (policy details page). Please refer to the Local Policies for specific information on driver ages at the location where you intend to rent and the applicable charge for drivers 20 to 24 years of age.
Outside of the US, some branches of Dollar may have an upper age limit or charge older drivers extra it’s worth looking into this beforehand.
Dollar has large selection of vehicles to choose from for any adventure, with everything from economy/standard options, to luxury cars, mini vans, SUVs and trucks. Vehicle selection varies by location inventory available, but examples of affordable cars might include the Chevrolet Spark, or Nissan Versa while upscale cars might include the Ford Mustang Convertible, Infiniti QX30 and Mercedes CLA.
Car rentals everywhere require a valid driver’s license and a credit card. Some branches do take debit cards, but always check ahead and keep in mind that additional documentation, such as official proof of address or an airline ticket, may be required.
