Unique get-away
I booked the whole house for a weekend trip for a family members wedding. Worked out well for all my family that stayed there. Its a unique stay in an interesting part of Dubuque if you enjoy older historical house definitely a place to stay.

Fantastic location and property
We came down with 8 adults and this place was perfect for our needs. The location is great to get to the marina and casinos quickly. The place was extremely clean, comfy beds, and we loved the porches for visiting. Easy check in and out. Highly recommend staying here.

A perfect location to celebrate a family event. Love the historic neighborhood, and the very old house that had updated bathrooms and kitchen, the important rooms for updating! The rest of the house was roomy and comfortable, and Jeremy was the perfect host with rapid responses to any inquiry that I had made of him. Perhaps we will return one day?

Wonderful weekend!
Stayed at this big, beautiful home for Loras graduation. SO much better than staying at a hotel. Tons of space, made meals, played games and had the best time. We love Dubuque and all the unique, historical homes and it was fun to stay in one! Wish we had done this the last several years and not waited until my daughter graduated! Highly recommend!!

The tubs were amazing, but beware the suites are a little bit away from the rest of the house so our children didn't feel safe sleeping that far from us in a new place and ended upstairs with us. The weather turned so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the outdoor area, however the location was perfect for seeing the sights.

This property was the perfect size for our 2 families. The kitchen was very well stocked with items for our use. Super comfy bed! Lovely jetted tub! The owners were wonderful to communicate with. Would consider staying again should we need it.

Historical gem
This place was a phenomenal stay. The location was beautiful, surrounded by trees and historical homes. Walkable to downtown if you don’t mind the hills and close to Loris College. The bedroom were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was a lovely touch and the backyard was huge. The porch was our favorite place to sit with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The owners were quick to respond and very accommodating. Thanks for the great stay!

Beautiful historic home
We planned this thinking our young adult children, and other family would join us. The house is a grand old mansion near the hospital in a neighborhood full of other beautiful old homes and near downtown. The back yard has plenty of room for kids to use the big bin full of toys by the back door. Since the family didn't join us - it turned into a great setting for a romantic get away! Thank you!

Such a neat property
This property was perfect for our family. Enough space for everyone to have their own area and a big living/dining room for hanging out and playing games! The location was close to the family we were visiting. The hosts were extremely accommodating! Worth the stay!

We had a great time!
We had a group of 8. The place is big and had lots of room for all of us to spread out. There were lots of games and movies for entertainment. My niece loved the big bathtub in the bathroom. We had a great time. It would have been nice if there was a bigger pot in the kitchen for making spaghetti for our big group (We had to use two smaller pots). A 9 1/2 x 11 pan would have been good too. The house is in a neighborhood with lots of old historic houses so it was fun to take a walk around the neighborhood to check out all of the houses. We all talked about coming back next year and staying at the same place if it is available.

This was a wonderful place for our family of four to share with another family of three. Plenty of space and privacy! The wii and abundance of games provided were much appreciated. Loved the soaker tubs and overall just a nice, spacious cozy place to stay!

Great for a family
We had 6 people ( 4 young adults with us) There was plenty of room to spread out and also be together. This was my first stay in a VRBO so I was unsure of the process but would do it again. I loved the old house with the newer bathrooms. There was plenty to do in the house. ( games, movies, cool bathtubs) Kitchen was a little tight to make breakfast but we managed. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a great time while in Dubuque. The house was big and very “homie” Beds were super comfortable, kitchen was smaller but well equipped. We had everything we needed to prepare food. We came to IA to spend some time with friends. We may have been a bit loud at night doing karaoke, but didn’t get any complaints from the owners which live above. Good times! Beautiful property!

Comfortable Place for the Family
Overall our impression of the accommodations were very good. Porches & outside doors could use some paint & so my initial impression was not good. However the inside of the house was very nice and clean. Kitchen is small but big enough to put out meals for a family. The only thing my family found a little strange was that two of the 3 showers are not enclosed in anyway. They work fine but just a little different than what we are used to. House has plenty of window air conditioning units and we were very comfortable during 3 days of 90 degree temperatures. Parking was very good as the driveway easily allows for 3 cars & there is also plenty of street parking. The neighborhood was quiet. We will definitely consider staying here again when the whole family travels to Dubuque.

There were 6 of us ladies that got away for the weekend. The time spent together was awesome. The house was okay. Not dusted, not sure the sheets on my bed were washed....smelled like a man had slept in it prior. Kitchen glasses were dusty, rooms were darker than I like (no overhead lights in some of the rooms), kitchen looked like it was in the middle of a paint job. The outdoors lacked care. In comparison to other B & B's that I have stayed in, this one was not what I am used to. Sorry for the poor review, but with some TLC, I think this place could get a much better review from me in the future.

Large home - comfortable beds
Stayed at the property with elderly mother and two teenage daughters. One reviewer had mentioned the home could use a little love. It is an historic property and is a bit weathered on the outside, but it’s also quaint. Beds were extremely comfortable; bathrooms had great hot water and high-end hardware. Towels were soft and thick. Coffee was available in the kitchen which was MUCH appreciated. Great neighborhood - very quiet. If you are looking for a place with the lots of room where a family or multiple couples can spread out, this is it. The only drawbacks we had were that my mother uses a walker and the with the slight “seams” on the flooring between rooms, it was a bit tricky for her, and there was a slight cigarette smell to the living/dining room. All-in-all we had a lovely stay. (And the owners are very responsive!)

Ski weekend in Dubuque
Great place for a mom and teen ski trip to Sundown Mountain over MLK weekend. So may special touches in this beautiful place made us feel right at home. The teens liked the games and movies. The moms appreciated a great night sleep on the comfy beds. Conveniently located between the ski area and downtown restaurants. Excellent property! Hosts responded timely to our questions.

Positive Spacious (11 people) Washer/dryer Detergent-dishwasher/laundry Shoveled Recycling Lots of towels Drafty (kitchen)-no biggie, just be prepared. Slippers were nice to have! Lack of cooking items (cutting board, pans, can opener, lg bowl, knives (only butter knives) crockpot, etc). Much easier if you prepare meals ahead of time.

In addition to the dishes, silverware, sauce pans, and other kitchen utensils that were provided, we have added a variety of other items to the kitchen as listed in your review: large mixing bowl, can opener, crock-pot, variety of cooking knives, cutting board, additional pans, etc. Guests are always welcome to let us know if there's something they need during their stay- we're happy to help!

Enjoyed the outdoor area
No complaints but the property could use some TLC. The rooms are VERY dark making it difficult to apply makeup. Outlets were not placed in convenient locations for hair dryer etc. Enjoyed the outdoor area! Owners were very willing to be flexible if we needed to change dates last minute.
