Haven’t stayed in a hotel this bad in 30 years. There was a very strong unpleasant chemical smell like glue in the room (room 7, family room). It was so strong we had to sleep with the window open and it still gave me an asthma attack. We couldn’t stay in the room because of the smell. There were no available rooms to move us to so we had to get another hotel and Soggiorno Battistera refused to give us a refund because we “chose to leave”. We lost more than $1k. Half of the things in the room were broken (safe, window shutters) and there was no working Wi-Fi. There was also no fire escape or smoke alarms. There was also a leak in the ceiling. I have no idea how they are allowed to operate. Expedia should be ashamed to list them. We certainly do not recommend you stay here.
The building is over 600 years old but you wouldn’t know it judging by the rooms. There is also a very nice terrace for sun tanning we used that was very private. The view of the Duomo from the room can’t be beat either.
Property is located on the square of one of the most amazing and famous sites in Florence. This is an old building, everything is old in Florence, but our suite was very nice. Clean, beds were great, Ramona was a great host, helpful and the breakfast was great! We would definitely return!
Florence will be on our stop list again.
Built in 1322 as the orphanage run by the church. Under going renovations. The room was nice and the shower was good. The view was amazing of the cathedral. Reception is limited hours so make sure to arrange your arrival time

great view
i love the location and the friendliness of the staff, the coffee was so good. i think it was very clean, but there was some construction in the building that felt dusty. the toilet needs a bit of glue I felt it was about to break. but other than that the location can not be beat, and again staff was super nice
The property's location is great and it was overall a comfortable stay. The included breakfast was also a great touch. In terms of cleanliness, it was disappointing that the staff only clean the rooms once every other day and we couldn't even get extra towels. In addition, the entire property is under construction and it was very difficult finding the location.
The property doesn't have a front desk person, this is a B&B, not a hotel. The location is great, but if you have trouble sleeping with noise, this is not the place to stay they are above 2 bars that play loud music and are open till 2-3 am. We didn't have any issues as the loudness didn't interfere with our sleep. This shouldn't be a VIP property they can't provide any of the VIP services such as a free bottle or voucher for a discount because they don't even have a restaurant or the amenities within the B&B. The AC wouldn't even cool down enough although the room was small good thing it rained and the temperature outside dropped to 60's so we were comfortable, but it was hot outside forget it.

There is no front desk until 2:00 o’clock. The cleaning guy welcome the guests but he was very rude and unfriendly. I was afraid to ask anything because he was making angry face all the time. Good location but horrible service.
The location was fantastic..you couldn’t have shed for better … the duomo right outside the door ..

We absolutely loved the property with the exception of the entry way. It was a little deceiving when entering the building, but once we found the rooms, we were extremely happy. We would highly recommend this property and stay again when in Florence.
The building is under construction so when you walk in its very deceiving. The sign with the address is very small. However when you figure out how to get to the rooms its very beautiful. They do need more staff as the one man there does everything. The location is great. We were supposed to get a food/beverage credit but didn't we paid a tax when we left in euros in addition to what we paid prior. Location is great tho.
Location was good but no staff on site. Did not get the room we purchased, AC barely work, and it wasn’t the cleanest. The room was ok but the building is severely run down. There were bugs everywhere in our room. Only stayed one night and found another hotel for the 2nd night of our stay to make us more comfortable.
Loved the view from our room. Had the most beautiful view of the Duomo. It was located in such a central location and walkable to almost everything. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Staff was very nice and friendly too. I would definitely recommend staying here!
I had an amazing time at Soggiorno Battistero. It was magical to look out over the Duomo and Baptistery. The best part was the concierge, Marcel. He was fun and super helpful and gave us great food recommendations. He even escorted my friend and into our next hotel when we decided to stay one more night. Give him a raise.
Location and amazing view! When it says it’s close to the Duomo it means just a few steps away. My view is the Duomo. I really enjoyed my stay here in this traditional apartment building. I stayed in a single room and although small it was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and with the kettle and fridge I had all I needed. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, breakfast was basic but that was fine. There was a TV but I didn’t watch it. Bathroom was small but had everything one needs, reminder my room was a single and I know other rooms here are larger. Walking distance to the train station and sites. I would definitely stay here again.
The property was incredibly well-situated next to the Duomo. I was in a room described as having “no view of the cathedral” and instead had a full view of the baptistery and had to slightly lean out of the window to see the cathedral (although that’s partially obscured by scaffolding at the time of writing). Comfortable bed, breakfast, WiFi, literally at the centre of the city.
It was a lovely view. but the bed frame was chipped off, there was old sugar packets, the bathroom was ridiculously small for my mom. She did not feel that safe around so we ended up leaving that same night to another hotel.
We booked this place last minute when we decided to extend our time in Florence and our previous hotel didn’t have any availability. The staff was nice at check in and location was great. I think we got the one room without a view, but the piazza was noisy at our previous hotel so thought one night of quiet would be nice. Except the room was not quite. While there was little noise from the piazza, we could hear everything from the kitchen area and the neighbors (every time the used the bathroom, flushed, showered, etc) it echoed through our room.
