Room had a clean smell but was very small and old. No current updates. Bathroom was small. After seeing the room and feeling extremely claustrophobic we left without a refund and went to another hotel to stay the night. I will not book this place again.

Not a great place to stay
Stayed two nights for my daughter’s softball tournament the room was very small for three people. The beds were not that comfortable and set on some kind of metal frame so sounded like you were sleeping on a filing cabinet. The ceiling apparently had had a leak at some point and they had repaired it but with a white paint so it looked like a big dot on the ceiling this place needs a serious update!! Cleaning wise was ok we did have a spider that stayed we us in the bathroom at least he didn’t have any friends that I saw

Okay Stay for 2 nights.
Plain and simple place to sleep and shower. We felt safe there. Very convenient location with walk ability. Staff was pleasant. My only suggestion is maybe step up the cleaning of the rooms, moving furniture occasionally to clean carpet and to get better toilet paper.

Disappointing
I was disappointed in my experience. I checked in around 4:30 but my card was charged about 4 hours before then. My room had questionable repairs and did not look like the pictures on the site. The grout in the bathroom looked like bad cake icing. The electrical wiring was … creative. I don’t know how any of it passed inspection. I wish I had actually read the reviews before booking. The best feature of the whole thing is that the a/c works like a dream.

I booked through Expedia for 3 nights. We own property near Ellijay so we come often and normally stay at another hotel in the area however we decided to try Ellijay Inn this time because it’s in the heart of downtown. We finished what we needed to do in 2 days and decided to go home a day early. I went in and asked the owner if I could get a refund for the last night as we were going to check out a day early, she told me that because i booked through Expedia that I needed to go through them. I thought that was weird because I paid the hotel directly at check it, but said okay I will contact them. Expedia customer service was great, they said it shouldn’t be a problem but needed to confirm with the hotel, I was put on hold while they called the hotel. The hotel owner (the lady I had previously talked to) told Expedia I would not be eligible for a refund even if I checked out early due to the “Policy”. The customer service rep from Expedia thought she was being unreasonable, but there was nothing she could do as they said “No”. There was absolutely no reason why they could not refund me one night for leaving early other than she just didn’t want to. That is bad customer service…so we will never go back and recommend that you stay somewhere else.

That morning City did work outside and you checked in early before 12:30 so we couldn’t get released the water in your room you should’ve to appreciate the hotel we checked you in early
