"This lodge is designed for the location. A large log type lodge with country taste including high ceilings, log beams wood stove and open main floor plan. The room was very large and spacious with a nice balcony. Bed was comfortable and there was zero noise. Checking in is completed electronically where a code is sent to allow entry after booking. This system work flawlessly and contributed to the serene quiet of the building. Clean main rooms, clean simple sleeping rooms, no TV distractions, all led to sound nights sleep. Would stay again with out hesitation. "

"The Inn is located at the bottom of Vermont’s tallest mountain, putting it smack dab in the middle of hiking, boating, tourism and beautiful places. Stowe, over the hill. Ben & Jerry’s, a bit more down the road. Ice cream, walking distance. Skiing, Smuggs is ten minutes. The Inn is creaky, classic and 100% Vermont. Breakfast is included and delicious. We highly recommend the experience."

"The room was immaculate. Although no one was on the property, it was easy to reach them by phone. The bed was comfortable (not so much for me because I don't like memory foam). Room well laid out, not quite so easy bath and toilet for handicapped. Would recommend highly."

"Wife and I came for a wedding and stayed here after for a few days in Vermont. The Essex Resort was a great home base for our travel, it felt so peaceful and the staff was beyond friendly. We felt taken care of during a time we wanted rest. We ate at Lazy Goat Tavern, walked the resort, and enjoyed the hot tub in our room (not all rooms have this)."
