Room great, shelf in bathroom for face creams? Breakfast selection was top class & quality was good. Didn’t know they special teas their? Pot of too strong & 2nd was cold. Still recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very well situated for getting around St Andrews. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Breakfast was excellent. However our room was very small (smallest hotel shower room I have ever seen!) and the facilities in the room fairly sparse. No BBC signal on the television while we were there.

Great place, lovely breakfast, very convenient.
Lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend. Single bedroom was not a single bed, but larger than single which was very comfy. Compact rooms. Plumbing system a little strange (quite noisy!) but everything you need and very central for St. Andrews.

Small family owned hotel, walking distance to shopping, golfing. Safe location. Rooms were Clean. Water and snacks were available in the room. Staff were friendly. Nice and warm hospitality. Free buffet breakfast for bonus. Do check this place too if you are planning to visit Scotland.

Located right across from the University, and in the heart of dining and shopping activity. Just down the road from the Old Course et al. Hotel itself is modern, clean and cozy. Muni parking options can be a bit competitive during busy season, but it worked out fine for me, with guidance from the friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended.

The room is small and basic but one of the nicest stays we’ve ever had. Nothing is a problem for the staff at the front desk. Genuinely the Lovliest people. The bed was so comfortable, fantastic quality linens and towels, great shower. What it lacks in size it makes up for in comfort. Easy walk to everything! What a find!

No parking is available.. Staff could be a little more helpful. Rooms look a bit tired could use some upgrading. Staff, could be a bit more friendly to guests.

I am very sorry to hear your thoughts on the team, this is very unusual for us and I will certainly talk with them about this.

I will definitely stay at the Albany again. It is perfect location to see the sights…a quick walk to wherever you need to go. Adorable property with the most amazing breakfast!!

Stayed for a night and was thoroughly impressed. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and were happy to store a suitcase as I’d arrived early. storage Bedroom and bathroom were spotless, with great range of shower products and refreshments. Lovely bed, great night’s sleep and an impressive range of breakfast food available, all very good quality. Only downside is the steps up to the hotel and lack of lift indoors, which was slightly difficult with a heavy case. Otherwise with the excellent location in town centre and welcoming atmosphere I would highly recommend and definitely return!

Lovely property. Rooms are quite small and the shower was leaking a bit, but would definitely stay there again. Staff very helpful. We left bags in their closet after we checked out - they were very accommodating.

Loved this historic property! Staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. The only drawback was the room was a bit small with low ceilings, understandable for a historic property but a bit uncomfortable for my very tall husband.

A comfortable hotel in a historic and picturesque street. Helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Quiet location. Our room was on the small side but the beds were good and the towels were excellent.

A great one night stay! Nice central location, great staff, and clean and comfortable rooms. Only small complaint is that the walls are quite thin- our room was next to the baggage storage and I could hear people in and out sometimes. But otherwise a great stay and highly recommend !

I personally was not going to note any negatives but I feel I should as there's some lessons for staff. The carpeted floor was not clean at point of check-in and required vacuuming, which I was happy to do myself so that I was sure it was done properly. The lay out of the room was also very frustrating, with access to bulit-in wardrobe blocked due to placement of an adult bed. I moved furnishings for the durations of my stay so that I could be more comfortable, and then moved back just before check-out. Where things really took a turn was when the shower in the room was ice-cold and would not heat up: in the end we actually needed to cancel our dinner reservation. Terribly embarrassing for my brother, he needed to have staff up to look at the shower whilst he was in his towels. He is still very upset over the experience and is not happy that we missed our birthday dinner, as this was the full point of the trip. There's also the matter of breakfast: despite staff requesting a slot you'd like to attend breakfast at (so there's a seating I presume), my brother and I waited more than 30 minutes beyond our arranged time, meaning we missed other plans we had arranged that morning. The cooked breakfast was also cold and we didn't feel like eating after all we'd been through. Given the price, I would certainly consider booking again – but I will also be speaking to the hotel directly to enquire about some sort of compensation or refund to help cover the cost next time around.

I am extremely sorry to hear of your disappointing stay with.I am sorry to hear that the room had not been vacuumed to our usual high standards and understand Sarah did offer to rectify this for you and certainly don’t expect our guest to have to do this.I have noted your comment regarding the layout of the room and will look to see if this can be changed going forward.I apologise for the issue with the shower that day, this really was one of these unfortunate situations which was unforeseen and as you say unfortunately there were no other rooms available that night. Being the time it was, made it impossible for us to offer another solution and for this I am very sorry. I understand the embarrassment this caused which was certainly not our intention. The team just wanted to try to sort out the problem for you which unfortunately they were unable to do and I can only apologise for this.We had a few larger parties in that night and some of these arrived for breakfast out with the time they had originally booked which caused your table not to be ready at your time. We tried our best to accommodate everyone but are restricted in the number of tables we have available. I have spoken with the team here in an effort to ensure that we manage the breakfast bookings better to avoid this happening again.I am genuinely very sorry that you had such a disappointing time with us and were unable to make your dinner reservation. This is most certainly not our usual standard of service which I hope you can appreciate with this not being your first stay with us. I have spoken to the team regarding your points and we will certainly endeavour to ensure these things don’t happen again.
