The John Know house is a family friendly place to stay in the Hill Country area. There is a large fenced in yard, a full size, well equipped kitchen, living area, and 4 bedrooms. There is plenty to keep you busy both inside and outside the house. We have a wonderful guidebook we provide to give you great ideas for places to eat, shop, activities to do, and events in our local area. The house sleeps 11 very comfortably, but isn't too big for a single family to enjoy as well. The space: Guest will have access to all four acres the house sits on. A large portion is fenced in for children's and pet's safety, but you are welcome to go beyond the fence. Just go out the gate on the side, and begin to explore. There is a wet weather creek in the back of property, that provides a place to explore or hunt for arrowheads. It's fun to collect lightning bugs when they are out as well. There is so much to do at the John Knox house. There is a treehouse, fire pit, BBQ pit, picnic tables, outdoor games to play, a ping pong table, a fuse-ball table, board games, puzzles and even a few art supplies. You won't run out of fun things to do when you visit this place. In the shed we have available for your use: an ice chest, 2 kayaks, a table, and 8 bag chairs you can use at the house, or take with you to the river/lake. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, bake ware, coffee maker, blender, and most anything you will need to cook. We even have a highchair and a Pac-n-Play for your kiddos. If you have any questions about if we have certain items, please do not hesitate to ask. We have three flat screen TVs with Direct TV and Netflix available. WiFi is included. Guest access Inside the fenced area, there is a large area with crushed granite area to park. There is room for multiple cars and/or a boat if you are bringing one with you. Please park on the crushed granite and not on the grass. You will definitely want a vehicle to get around while here because we are out in the country, however there is an option to rent transportation for day trips if you so choose. Other things to note This home is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of beautiful shade trees. You will enjoy the privacy of being out in the country, while being centrally located to places to visit all around. We had a little trouble getting in because of technology but Kathy was super responsive and solved the problem quickly. The firepit was beautiful and the outdoor area was so fun and charming. It is a 20 min drive to Wimberley but the view is beautiful on the way! Kathy added so many sweet touches to show that she really wanted us to have a nice, relaxing stay - there was a complimentary bottle of wine, extra things like spare toothbrushes and lotion just in case someone forgot. Everything was exactly as described. Owner/property manager was the most responsive I've seen to date. Lots of outdoor amenities, which would be great in cooler weather. Unfortunately I decided to go in August, during a heatwave, so wasn't able to fully enjoy everything they had to offer, but that's my choice/fault. This year, we had the largest group yet, with 10 adults and children plus 2 dogs. The playroom was perfect each night, we got to hang outside and listen to the chickens and cows, and my dogs especially got to run around and enjoy being dogs with all the country has to offer. There was plenty of room and privacy and room for all of the kids we had -- getting the teenagers in one area and the youngers in another was also fantastic. We are planning on renting this place again in the fall/winter during the holiday season. We had 2 familes that stayed here (4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 6-10). There was plenty of rooms and beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. The location was great as it was couple of mins away from 2 boat ramps and the grocery store. The drive way had plenty of parking place for your vehicles and boats. Everything is provided in this house and all you really need is clothes and food. The house was clean and nicely set up. The best part was the game room and the outdoor part to keep the kids very busy. There was plenty of towels, cups, dishes, etc...enough for a lot of people. Katherine was a great and fast on her communication and answered all my questions to ensure my stay was going to be great which it was. I definitely highly recommend this place as the price was reasonable for the location and space it offers. This house offer more than a home away from home, it felt like home!
