House is as advertised. Small refund for lack of direct beach access which was an inconvenience but it is a short walk down the street to a public entrance to the beach. The beach behind the house was not often crowded but note that high tide comes right up to the rocks by where the stairs are currently blocked off.

Clean but could use updating.
The unit was clean for the most part. Could use some updating. Closets had stuff in them that should not have been there (ie. master closet had an old set of closet doors and an old rusty box fan in it). The steps to the beach were not there as they had been washed away but no one mentioned it to us before the stay. Plus, the construction guys working on the steps left their truck in the middle of the driveway most of the time we were there, and they were not around, so we were unable to pull all the way up to the home.

Ocean Front House
Great ocean front house! Location and quality of property was great. There was no beach access while we were there and this was very disappointing as I had specifically inquired about the condition of beach access before arriving and I was assured that we would be able to get to the beach from the house. This was not the case however, the stairs going down to the beach had been destroyed at some point and were boarded up. This was disappointing, but the house was great otherwise.

Property Description NOT accurate
I only rented this property for the access to the beach. It states in the property description that the stairs lead directly to the sand. The day before my arrival I received a text message letting me know the stairs were destroyed in a recent storm (weeks before my reservation was made) and that there was no access to the beach. You had to walk a very long distance down the street to access the beach.

Beautiful views
We loved the house and the location. The only thing that needs to be addressed is the steps heading to the beach. My teenage girls were able to go down, but we weren't able to enjoy the private beach because the boardwalk headed to the beach is missing at least 3 steps. The bottom step was to my 18 year olds knees. So that was disappointing for us less nimble parents. We enjoyed our stay despite that. It was a short trip for us so that was not as big of a deal for just 2 nights.

Fantastic stay on Folly Beach
Our Family of 5 had a wonderful stay at "Shore N'uf" Lots of room to spread out with a huge great room, well equipped kitchen, and not one but 2 decks overlooking the beach (one on the house and one on the walkway over the dunes. even had a section of screened in porch attached to the main bedroom. The home has some age, so expect some wear and tear to show, but nothing that diminished our fun. The home was clean and had all that we needed! We would love to stay again!

Incredible Almost Hypnotizing View :)
I'm the type of vacationer who wants to go and do and see everything and who can't ever seem to relax, even on vacations where relaxation is the point. This place was the cure! The view from the deck is so spectacular, I found myself out there for hours at a time, watching, hearing, smelling and feeling the sea all around me. I saw dolphins every single day I was out there. I also watched the most incredible moon rise I've ever seen as well as some spectacular sunrises too. The beach is very private, and though people will walk across it from time to time, you're primarily out there with your family or group alone with no congestion whatsoever. The screened in porch is perfect for family dinners. The place itself is very comfy and cozy. Some night say it's dated, but I found most of the dated decor to be more nostalgic and actually adding to the experience rather than detracting. The only issue was the master bath Jacuzzi didn't have a drain and didn't work, but I don't even think that was advertised so not really an issue. The water was out for a day, at no fault of the owners, due to the city working, but, the owners gave us plenty of notice to prep for that, so that was really a plus for them too. We struggled saying goodbye to this place, but we all agreed, this is one to return to. Oh one more thing. There are some really cool and varied lizards art the wooden steps in the yard. Keep your eye out! The kids love em! :). A++++

Problems
The house has an excellent location, with fine views of the beach and ocean, and also the marsh. It has had a lot of work of recent, with new decks and an almost complete replacement of a stairway. Inside it was clean and generally in good condition. The kitchen and bathrooms were fine. However, there were three problems. First, the house uses Direct TV which was inoperable for seven of the fourteen days we were there. Vacasa has given some rebate, but we would have much preferred the TV. Secondly all of the blinds facing the water fail to operate adequately, unable to slide across much of the windows and missing slats. One gets lots of light early. Finally the small ATT modem seems insufficient. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get on line at least a dozen times. Richard

It was what we wanted. Had a bit of delayed maintenance. One day of a handyman would have done wonders. We'd still rent it again.

Perfect location!
House is dated and needs some work, but in a perfect location. Has great views of the ocean. Vertical Blinds broke in living room and bedroom , rugs dirty and stained. Deck furniture is plastic and covered with bird droppings. Beds are clean and comfortable.

Quiet location away from the busy main street
Property needs some maintenance, but worked fine for our small family of 5. This is a nice beachfront property and it is priced right for what you get in return compared to others in the area. Beware of the big birds that fly over the porch, there is no canopy of protection ! The screened in porch is the best for viewing the ocean in safety.

Enjoyed our stay. Love that there is both a screened in and open Deck. Also a nice deck with seating on the short board walk across the dunes to beach. Nice location midway between The Cut and the Lighthouse. House it’s self is comfortable. Good layout. Would definitely stay here again and/or recommend to others.

We all enjoyed our stay, however, the cleanliness could have been better. Some of the dishes we pulled out of the cabinet were filthy. They replaced the mattresses and box springs of all 3 beds (which we were excited about) but left the old ones in our way. They told us maintenance would be in the next day to remove the old mattresses and box springs and fix the blinds but they never came. We ended up having to move them out of the way ourselves which was a bit inconvenient. The house itself needs a little updating but the location, patio and beach view was fantastic.

Cute, but needs attention
The location was great. The beach was cute. But the master bedroom was missing several blinds, there wasn’t a blind shutter for another window in that bedroom, and there was a roach in the shower. There was a significant amount of rust throughout the house. Beds could be more comfortable/bigger. But overall, had a great time and the house was mostly fine.

On the beach
The #1 feature of this property is the location and beach access. Being able to sit on the large back deck rocking chairs and watch surfers and dolphins and the sunrise was wonderful! The next door construction noise was not too noticeable for us. My one recommendation to the owner/property manager would be to upgrade the mattresses. They seem pretty old and a more comfortable mattress would have been ideal.

Beachfront bliss
Great place close enough to Charleston & downtown FB but far enough from the crowds for quiet downtime. Loved sitting on the patio watching the waves and the dolphins while enjoying morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Screened in patio area was a plus on windy days. Issue with a hot water heater leak was dealt with quickly and expediently even though it was a Saturday with no disruption to us. I definitely recommend and will stay here again.

Great location on Folly
Nice location on Folly Beach and can’t complain about the place itself or the area. However, it wasn’t as clean as it should be. There was food (bbq maybe?) on the outside table, the coffee maker was dirty, lots of surfaces were dusty, and there was a bowl with food residue in it. Some of the lights need replacing and the dishwasher didn’t clean that well. The staff was very responsive when I realized the roll out trash bin was missing. Great experience overall except for some minor cleaning issues.

The property was good but needs some updating. Need an ice maker in fridge, dryer is ineffective, washer/dryer closet door is off the hinges, blinds are falling off. But a/c works well, location is quiet, nice deck, beach perfect. We did all say we’d stay again.

Love the beach access. This part of the beach is quiet and perfect for walking or just sitting. The shrubbery do somewhat clutter the view from the deck, but over all it is a really nice place. Recommend it for sure.

Great area of town and beautiful beach!
This house is located away from town making it quieter unless someone dies to party until 3am. Some maintenance is needed on doors inside and front door. Little more elbow grease on bathrooms and shades on large windows need replaced. Comfort wise it was great. Shop at Harris Teeters or Walmart for groceries, not in town. Be sure to visit the lighthouse/beach area at the end of E. Ashley. Restaurants are ok....great breakfast at Black Magic Cafe. Great sunrise always!

The house is better than the pics can show! Perfect location on quiet residential section of beach yet short drive into town for food and fun. Everyone in our party of 6 was pleased and wanted to stay longer and possibly buy the place. The porch is excellent place to watch the night sky.

My wife and I stayed here in the days leading up to and after our wedding which was also on Folly Beach. We LOVED the house and especially the location right on the beach. We spent a lot of time on both decks and highly recommend staying here. We hope to come back soon!

Great place! If you want ocean access you got it.
The new deck with screened in sitting area is awesome. Very easy to get on and off of the beach. The house was very clean. A couple of negatives but nothing that would ruin a stay. The master bedroom tv did not work.(Who needs tv when your at the beach.) The living room tv worked fine and has direct tv. There is no grill on the property so you will have to cook on the stove or in the oven. There is a microwave. The smaller bedroom on the beach side tends to get warmer than the other rooms as the day goes on. (Just an fyi to anyone who likes to sleep in.) These are the only reasons it is not a 5 in my book.

Great house! Great location!
Had a great time for our stay. The house was great! The deck needs a little work, but that did nothing to deter from our vacation. We would definitely come back again! Super house...a great time was had by all!

Great stay!
We really enjoyed our stay in Folly Beach! The house was great - right on the water and the weather was beautiful for February, so we were very excited! There was one downfall about the house - there were only two rolls of toilet paper when we got there and they were about half full. You would think that the property company would have provided more seeing as the house sleeps 6 and we were staying there for 3 days. It didn't make sense to me. But other than that, lovely property! Hope to be back soon!

As for the toilet tissue issue, in our vacations rental agreement, we state that we only provide a starter kit for the home that includes a roll of paper towels, toilet tissue, dish detergent, etc. We strongly encourage any future guests to bring some amenities for themselves if they are bringing a party that meets the maximum amount of people the property can sleep.
