"No one there to check me in at check in time so I called after 30 minutes of waiting.. the lady showed me a room that had an adjoining shared bathroom but had no door to the bedroom so anyone could wander in! Then eventually took me to a more suitable room.. when I asked if my Camino buddy could use one bed (there were 3)! She requested an extra €50!!! The room cost me €48 so we declined!! Decor was very tired and shabby but better than some of the municipal albergues.."

"Excellent service. Hi to Maria and the rest of the crew. Personalized service form the moment we walked in. Property is beautiful and clean. It was quiet this time of year but we prefer it that way. Room was ample, clean, beautiful with a great bed that is very comfortable. Perfect place for relaxing as a couple and enjoy good wine in Rioja. Taxi service was arranged by hotel. The grounds are beautifully maintained. They have kept the medieval nature of the surrounding with modern amenities at this great hotel. Food is delicious and Allegar as well as Calao is excellent in every way. The best tarta de queso Vasca that I’ve had had has been at the restaurant at the hotel. . Thanks for your hospitality. Will highly recommend "
