Girl's Weekend - SUCCESS!!

Robin and Charley were wonderful to work with and we were able to easily access the property. It is a cozy little lake cabin that feels like family. There is so much more room than it looks like in the pictures!! And the treats that were left for us was even more of a bonus! We slept like babies and awake to a cool crisp morning with coffee on the deck. It was a terrific time and we may have to plan another girls weekend here!

Fall Break Vacation

Great location, good fishing. The owners thought of lots of little details like having ingredients for smores ready to go, coffee, and popcorn. Our sons loved the paddle boat the most. Great value.

Nice Cozy Lake House

Very clean and roomy. It was too windy to take the boat out, but the fishing was excellent right off shore, immediately behind the house. Had a great time.

Loved the lake house and Charles was very attentive and prompt with any questions I had. The house was well stocked and very welcoming. It was very quiet and peaceful and was very enjoyable. Would definitely stay again and would have no hesitation to recommend this place to someone looking to stay at a lakefront home.

Great Hidden Gem on Quiet Lake

We loved chasing the shade all weekend long in the huge lakefront back yard. The space fit the 5 of us comfortably and we mostly grilled so did not us the kitchen very extensively. Nothing fancy but clean with very comfortable furniture and ample space for our crew. The neighborhood was very quiet as was the lake. We all loved our stay!

Lake Stay

This house has a beautiful view of the lake with use of a paddle boat, fishing boat and kayaks. There are plenty of games available for indoors and a cornhole game for outdoors. There is a laundry room too. Kitchen has plenty of dishes and silverware. Things that are not available are salt, hair blow dryer, shampoo and conditioner in one of the bathrooms and tissues.

Awesome place.

This is an awesome place. The owner could not have been any more accommodating. I left a very sentimental necklace there, and he drove a 4 hour trip to get it for me and shipped it to me. The place has a beautiful view of a lake that can't be beat. It is a quiet and peaceful location. Just wish this was closer to us as we were just in town for a concert in Wakeagan, IL, and this was half way for us. Everything was supplied that you would need including bottled water. We can't say enough how awesome this place was and the owner.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay this weekend at the lake. The house was plenty big enough for all of us to spread out and have some space.the living areas/kitchen overlook the backyard and lake so it was easy to watch the kids and dogs playing. The backyard had a ton of space for everyone to play and run around and it was a VERY peaceful and quiet area. I would not recommend bringing your own boat to the stay due to the far location of the public boat launch but there were plenty of kayaks and paddle boats/a fishing boat available for use. Overall we couldn’t have been more happy with the stay this weekend and Charley was quick to respond to any questions that we had along the way. It was a perfect retreat for us and our friends, kids and pups.

RELAX by the Lake

The owner, Charlie and Robin, thought of everything to help you relax. Very comfortable lakeside home with awesome views. Quiet neighborhood. Roku TV’s in living room and master bedroom. If you enjoy fishing you are in for a treat. I caught a lot of huge bluegill, a few perch, and a couple of largemouth by accident as I was focused on bluegill. Communication with the owner was excellent as we stay in VRBO ‘s a lot and Charlie would respond in less than ten minutes each time. We wish we could have stayed longer. You have a full kitchen but IF you don’t want to cook you have several restaurant choices in Angola about 10 minutes away. We highly recommend this property! Jim and Jill

Nice Enough

The place was nice enough. It may have been great for a family that wanted to be outdoors and enjoy the lake. I was on my own for a spiritual retreat, along with my dog. At night the curtains didn't fully close, there were no deadbolts on the exterior doors and no security light in the parking area. When my dog started growling and not settling, I decided to leave at 2:00 a.m. I had booked two nights and left all of the money behind when I decided to leave. No small thing. So, I'd say, not a good place for my purpose.

Peaceful stay - beautiful lake views

This lake cabin has all the basics you need for an unfussy, relaxed escape. Stare at the lake, watch TV, or do both. Well stocked cookware, comfortable beds, nice access to the lake (it was cold and snowy while I was there, so I just enjoyed the views). Look up instructions for the coffeemaker (Bunn) before you use it and bring bottled water for it. The owner was helpful and communicative especially when the forecast suggested we’d get maybe 6 inches of snow and icy roads. Fortunately we didn’t get that much and the roads were mainly level and well-cleared. I would stay here again - maybe next time in the summer.

No opening windows, cobwebs and dirt in all windows, a wasp nest in one window, dirty kayaks with spiders and bugs, broken outdoor chairs, water-filled paddleboat (unusable), insufficient lighting, nonworking water softener, deck chairs in garage, deck had roses growing up through deck boards, sketchy pier. Spent 4 hours first day cleaning kayaks and a couple of windows plus chairs by the fire pit. Host was responsive and lake was serene and beautiful, but thos cottage was NOT prepared for paying guests. Very disappointed.

Beautiful lake, birder’s paradise.

While it was only my husband and me this trip, this house would be perfect for a large family gathering. Two full baths and many beds, well stocked with necessities. Lots of games for the kids, two TVs, and a rocking’ internet connection. The lake itself is beautiful and peaceful. Despite many houses, it felt like we were all alone most of the week. We didn’t catch a lot of fish as the lake was too high due to heavy rains in prior weeks. But we did catch some variety…a large mouth bass, a yellow perch, and a variety of pan fish. And rumor has it some monster carp, although we did not attempt that. I was especially happy with the variety of birds to hear and observe…some I did not have on my lifetime list. A red-headed woodpecker, a warbling verio, a Baltimore oriole and a bluebird in addition to the usual robins, sparrows, wrens, and finches. We also had a gaggle of Canadian geese with many goslings…and a pair of herons who didn’t have much better luck with the fish than we did. Charley and Robin are great hosts, quick to respond to any request. House was quite clean except for window sills which could use a quick vacuum. But that’s life on a lake, for you…a few bugs are a small price to pay for a lovely week at the lake.

Lake Memory Lane!

I grew up going to the lake with my family and this place was like a time travel to those days. It was so relaxing to have a hidden gem like Long Lake to bring my family too! The cottage has so much charm! I loved the big front shady yard where we could lounge with a beautiful view of the lake. We were able to have camp fires, roast hotdogs, eat s'mores and listen to some music. Having access to the paddle boats and kayaks to explore the lake was a bonus. If you venture just past the shallow part of shore (and the weeds), there is a pleasant area to float and sunbathe on a floatie or noodles. It is deep so be careful with smaller children. The lake was calm and no speed boats or jet skis to distract. It was so peaceful being on lake that was didn't have the normal lake distractions. There are some fish to be had But they were definitely a challenge to find. Caught some bluegill, crappie and a couple of bass. Overall, I loved this place! Just realize that this a throwback cottage that doesn't have the glitz and amenities of the big lakes. I would love to spend a week doing some odd jobs just like my dad when he had his cottage. The owners Charley and Robin were super responsive and had great communication. They reached out while we were there to make sure everything was going well and they reponded promptly to the few questions we had! p.s. A bald eagle visited us two doors down! otter, deer, osprey, beautiful wildlife!

Comfortable affordable attentive

Charlie was a great host! Answered all questions with in minutes. The outdoor property is large with great deck and view of the lake. We love hearing all the birds! Indoor comfortable.Outside dock wasn't in the water but you could walk right into the water. Just a little TLC this place would be paradise.

Relaxing fishing paradise

Was a beautiful location near multiple fishing lakes. With the kayaks and the boat really madeIt a wonderful fishing experience. We caught blue gill, bass, bowfin, and many catfish. The owner Charley was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will be back in the summer.
