Thanksgiving Blessings
We used the Eagle Nest home this Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday as well as our parents' 50th wedding anniversay. The place was amazing! I walked in and it was just like the pictures. So much space, so clean and a great space for the 13 of us to enjoy several days as a family. I recall the first night.....the sheets even smelled so clean and fresh. I have sent the VRBO link to several people who asked for if, after seeing our pictures. Bill and Sue, you have a beautiful home and were excellent to work with! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful space with our family! I'm so glad we found the Eagle Nest and will definitely be recommending it to family and friends!

Perfect for a family reunion!
I rented this property for my extended family to stay together the weekend of my son’s wedding. It was a perfect space for us to gather together for breakfast, and come back to after exploring, beautiful Galena. There were so many amenities, we didn’t even get to try them all. Hot tub, barbecue, several scenic deck spaces, a huge basement with game room, barstools, fireplace, and more. Also volleyball court, beautiful trails that span throughout the property’s acres of nature. This place was absolutely perfect for our family gathering! Every bedroom has its own full bath. It felt like a hotel within a house. Unbelievable! Plenty of kitchenware to serve up to 28 guests. Plenty of extra pillows and linens. Only minutes from downtown Galena and the venue where we held my son’s wedding. I would highly recommend! Make sure to communicate with the hosts what your plans are, if you plan to have a party. We let them know that we were hosting a rehearsal dinner onsite. And they charged us an extra “party” fee. But I was happy to pay I t, because it was the perfect setting to hold our laid back, comfortable rehearsal dinner before the big wedding day. My brother-in-law had been to this property 10 years ago for a corporate event. I imagine this would be perfect for the corporate event setting as well. Definitely a must see! I highly, highly recommend this property if you are looking for a perfect family reunion VRBO home.

This very large home was just as listed - spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of fun. We had a lovely time with friends and our young kids. Owners were helpful. Galena is the best!

Eagles Nest Thanksgiving
Beautiful place for our Thanksgiving with our family! The pictures don’t do it justice! Themed bedrooms, gorgeous bathrooms, the best equipped kitchen I have ever been in and a very private, beautiful wooded setting complete with walking trails, hot tub and outdoor fire pit! Nothing was spared for comfort right down to the linens and comfortable beds and every type of serving piece you could imagine for our feast! Immaculate, cozy, well appointed and everything we needed for a family getaway! Fantastic place!!!

PERFECT!! :o)
My siblings and spouses (we have a big family) needed to find a place big enough for all of us to each have our own bedroom and bathroom. WHAT A FIND! The Eagle's Nest was very easy to get to and had everything we needed to get together for our family reunion. It also had more than enough space for people to have their privacy as well. Every where we looked, there was plenty of space and seating inside and out for everyone to enjoy! We stayed 3 nights and there wasn't enough time to really even truly enjoy all that the house had to offer. The whole downstairs is filled with fun games for adults, as well as kids, and also a big TV for the guys to watch, not to mention each bedroom has a TV in it. The kitchen had lots of seating for our group and the kitchen was stocked with everything that we could think of! Not to mention 2 large refrigerators upstairs in the kitchen and one full size kitchen downstairs in the bar area. And the ice machine came in so handy! Wow!! Bill and Sue were very accommodating for us and answered every question that we had for them in a very timely manner. We can't say enough good things about this place and we will definitely come back! Thanks Bill and Sue for making our reunion a great one!!!

Best vacation house ever!
I rarely write reviews but this one most definitely deserves it! This home has it all and is pristine! The kitchen and bar were so well stocked...everything we needed was there. The living space is HUGE and and there are plenty of tables for a big group to eat meals. The bedrooms (each with a private bath) were excellent! Comfy beds and nice linens. The lower level is fabulous with so much to do...pool table, ping pong table, air hockey and more! Even the grill was spectacular! We are very picky but this place was perfect. And so clean! The Galena Territory is so beautiful...doesn't feel like Illinois at all! So hilly and serene. Communication with the owners was fabulous...they are very responsive. We were there with our extended family...20 people...and everyone was amazed with the accommodations! If you are thinking about this place...think no further, Just book it! We will definitely be back!
