    Illinois Hotel Travel Guide

Illinois is known as a microcosm of the United States. From the metropolis of Chicago, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the state's northeast corner, to the plains of the west and the rolling hills and Mississippi River to the south, Illinois is a state for everyone. Hotels in Illinois offer Midwestern hospitality with a modern touch.

The state of Illinois proclaims to be the "Land of Lincoln," and three Illinois state residents, including Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses Grant, and Barack Obama have been elected to the top position in the U.S. Government. In addition, Ronald Reagan was born and raised in the state.

    "Great price and location!"
The hotel is in a fabulous location and one of the cheapest downtown. It used to be very luxurious and you can still see some of that charm. It is in need of attention and updates. Check-in and check-out was fast. Housekeeping left us a thank-you note for the tip. The rooms were huge, which was great for our family, and I loved the high ceilings. There were two minor issues, which could happen in any hotel, and both were addressed immediately by the staff.

"Very nice hotel in the Historic District"
I chose the hotel because it was close to the sites I wanted to visit in Springfield. I was very pleased to find that they were all within a two or three block of the hotel. I was able to park my car and walk to each of the sites I planned to see on my trip. In addition to the fine restaurant located in the hotel, there were other dining choices all in walking distance. The hotel itself was excellent. The room was beautiful. The staff all courteous and helpful. I will recommend the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel to friends.

"hotel close to restaurants and shopping areas"
We enjoyed our stay for the most part, room was very clean and comfortable . The breakfast was very nice with a good selection of food, could use a little more space as it became a little crowded at times. Our grandchildren enjoyed the pool very much except for a couple of nights around 9 o'clock it got a little rowdy when a group of boys from a baseball team started throwing chairs in the pool and were running around the pool, jumping over the patio railings, running in the parking lot and coming back into the pool. It was very frightning to families with small children as we and other parents left the pool area. Had a hard time going to sleep as the boys from the baseball team were quite loud on the parking lot around midnight. This by no means won't keep us from coming back again in the future.
