Why, the moment you declared your allegiance to the culture of complaint, did you refuse the full refund offered you if you would only leave? Your room showcased fresh flooring, tile, paint, and furniture. We have now attempted to cleanse it of negative energy following your departure. It took years to arrange for new roofing in our rural area. Understand that the installers drive 300 miles round trip every few days to complete the job, and labor in extreme summer heat. Please excuse their ladder and support vehicle parked out front that you found distressing, inactive though they were. Must we apologize for constantly upgrading our property? Other guests complimented the improvements the same night of your stay. Hopefully you have fulfilled your purpose on this glorious planet by carving a trail of ill will. Thank you for your review. That rogue pillow slip must have snuck in under the radar, *oops😬 a I'm happy you noticed my efforts in COVID safety. It's very simple to sanitize a room after I finish cleaning. I use a commercial sanitizer on all the frequently touched items like doorknobs, light switches, water faucets, drawer pulls handrails etc... Wipe it & done. Light lemony scent and dries neutral. We do have microwaves available on request. I apologize and hope you didn't have a cold meal! Ericka

I'm so sorry to see you were not satisfied with your room during your stay. I would have welcomed the opportunity to address any issues you felt were not satisfactory and made every effort to remediate the problem. You were here for 2 nights, and we spoke briefly after you checked in, then again on the 2nd day when you returned after bike riding in the redwoods. If you had mentioned something to me its possible it would have been a simple fix, and you would have had a greatly improved experience.

The numbers in the stated rate appear transposed. Minus county occupancy tax, commission, and credit card processing your rate for two queen beds during our two month high season was $105, roughly the cost charged by the professional service to commute to our rural area before steam cleaning our carpets only a couple of weeks prior to your visit. To provide perspective, the profit generated by your stay will cover the purchase of three gallons of gasoline locally. Thank you again for dropping by the redwoods and here is wishing you well.

Dear Guest, Thank you for supporting an independent small family business in a hardscrabble part of the country, one of those overlooked areas of the United States where it proves difficult to earn a living. As we work hard to please everyone who visits, we are particularly sorry to learn you could not be happy here. Please help by letting us know, if this were your property what would you invest in to make it less as you say bare bones, bearing in mind that at luckiest you might have perhaps two months of business per year? Additionally, a not insubstantial number of hagglers forcefully deflate the nightly rate. Once again, we are grateful for your stay and wish you all the best.
