“Great location to all things Sandane. Easy to walk to dinner or hikes. Breakfast had a wonderful selection and was well presented and maintained. Room was smallish but was in the older part of the building so quite quaint and unique. Good experience and value overall.”

“Highly recommend - it was the most beautiful place we stayed at during our Norway visit. Our property was right on the Oppstrynsvatnet lake. The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and had all amenities - full kitchen, dining, iron, hair dryer. The house also had an in-house sauna in addition to a Panaroma sauna on the property. The panaroma sauna followed by a dip in the lake was a great experience. Host lives near the house and therefore, late check in was easy. Suggest bringing your……

“The hotel host was very friendly and provided us with a very warm welcome. The room is clean and tidy. The 3 courses dinner there tasted very good and definitely worth the money. The only disadvantage would be the noise problem in room though ear plugs are provided.”

“Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!”

“Outstanding Breakfast, Decent room. Only concerns were that some areas of the hotel seem a bit run-down, for example the balcony had a ton of peeling paint and some algae growing. The hallway corridors seemed dusty, the room doors a bit beat up.”
