We stayed here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary which was noted on the booking and acknowledged by the reception at check-in. But no complimentary dessert or anything else offered to make the occasion special which we have received in other accommodation. Just happened to stay on the one weekend where a global IT outage forced the casino to shut down on the Friday night. Whilst we realise this was completely out of their control not one SMS or email to apologise for the inconvenience. We booked the Star solely for the convenience of the casino & restaurants. Room itself was nice enough, very formal & business like but for the money we have experienced much nicer luxury & bonus service. Sometimes it's the little things that can make a difference.

Room was very small. No minibar, no robes and slippers which was meant to be included for the superior king room. Wouldnt consider this 5 star at all and for the money could stay somewhere better

Facilities and service are impeccable. Since the hotel is so popular and the casino, combined it attracts large amount of people everywhere, in the dining area, hall way, lifts etc. So quietness and personal space arent the specialties.

My room was quiet with lots of modern conveniences. Lots of water, tea, and coffee. Breakfast restaurant is very nice with lots of options. The Sports Bar has huge screens and lots of sports from around the world being played. Staff in all areas were so friendly. I didn't even realize when I booked that hotel , that there was a casino in it. Room service was quick and very nicely presented. Pool area is also very nice. Overall a fantastic hotel and I will stay here again.

The staff were very slow in all interactions and the hotel was not well signposted from the car park (we didn’t know there was a casino). When we arrived we couldn’t find the reception to begin with. Once we did, check in was very slow - the staff member tried to charge me twice and failed to return my passport until I asked for it. The rate we found online on The Star website was cheaper than what reception were trying to charge us, so we had to stand their and book it online at the desk, when it would have been much easier if the staff member could have just honoured the online rate for us at the desk. We were encouraged to sign up for the member club to get free parking but my card was still charged for the parking. Signing up for the club was a tedious process online but we then had to go to the membership desk to collect our card, which was a great inconvenience to the staff working on that desk too. The room itself however, was lovely. Great views, good size beds and very clean. I would revisit the hotel for the rooms and the location but there are definitely improvements that could be made to the operations of the hotel.
