You cannot compare hostels run by the Israel Youth Hostels Association in Israel to general hostels. Private rooms with space for large families, clean dining facilities, etc. Really, the experience is a great one, especially when you're doing various roadtrips and hikes around the country. We had a fantastic stay - the hotel is new, and designed really nicely with gardens around it and nice sitting areas, an outdoor and indoor pool. The beach is just 2 minutes away. The hotel offers free bicycles so we went for a ride along the coast which was great. Breakfast is very good and different to most Israeli hotels - includes a variety of small dishes and main course to choose from. Staff was super friendly.

This was perfect in every way. It was located right in the Artist Colony with the winding roads and historic stone buildings. The owner, Sharon, was there to meet us and show us the room. Everything seemed very new and clean. Balcony overlooking a mountainous view. Private bath and great shower. The beds were marvelous and we slept right through. It was a quiet neighborhood and restaurants within a short walk.

I wanted a relaxing few days and this fit the bill. The breakfast was enough for three people. The room was large and comfortable. The living room area was larger than most hotel rooms.
