The web site does not reflect the actual place. The car park is full of caravans, motor homes and big white vans all occupying must needed parking spaces. This area resembled a scrape yard. The inside looked like an over stocked untidy antique shop. Totally not what we expected so we found other accommodation. The owners were not prepared to reimburse any of the £220 we paid.

Lovely place to stay
We loved it at hampsfell house. Its about a 10 min walk from town. Downhill there, uphill back. Lovely well presetned gardens to explore. Great atmosphere and very comfy. All the staff were really friendly and we had a big fry up every morning, perfect! Dinner was also lovely. Wpupd definitely recommend.

A fabulous Hotel
A fabulous hotel beautifully situated in its own grounds and within walking distance to the town. The restaurant is excellent and we ate there the two nights of the stay and loved it both nights. We are now thinking of visiting again in the summer and will definitely use Hampsfell House Hotel

Weekend away
Beautiful setting in glorious gardens. Outside seating on various levels to enjoy a glass or two. Very friendly hosts with their lovely rescue dogs. Our accommodation was excellent and quiet. Our evening meal was really good and value for money. Breakfast was all you would need to set you up for the day. This hotel is a great base for touring the area and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it.

Average stay but the food which was excellent.
Location was a little difficult to find. Room ok nothing special but clean if a little dated. Food was excellent but we found the people not over friendly. Courteous enough and efficient but we felt we were an intrusion and any comments or request we felt were treated as if they were a criticism.

Golden Wedding.
My Husband and myself stayed at Hampsfell House Hotel from 11/07/19 until 15/07/19. We celebrated our Golden Wedding on Friday 12th. We had a wonderful time and would certainly go back to stay there again. The Hotel looks exactly as it does in all the photographs, the food was superb, everybody we met at the Hotel were very friendly.
