Black River6 nights4.5 star property9.6/10 - Exceptional (25 reviews)"The larger 4-bed villa that I booked was lovely; we also saw the inside of a smaller 3-bed unit, and it looks like the 3-bed ones have had a bit of a refurb that hasn’t reached the 4-bed villa yet, but it was honestly lovely. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially our cleaner Marie, who was an absolute star. Would thoroughly recommend."Reviewed August 7, 2026Roundtrip • New York (NYC) - Mahebourg (MRU)JFK - MRU • 2 stops MRU - JFK • 2 stops$6,906$4,932found 14 hours agoper traveler - Le Jadis Beach Resort & Wellness - Managed by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts

Balaclava6 nights5.0 star property8.2/10 - Very good (186 reviews)"AVOID. Our honeymoon was ruined by 11 nights of health hazards & nickel-and-diming at a "Premium All-Inclusive" resort. We paid a significant extra for Premium All-Inclusive and checked with the hotel before arrival, yet most menu items, even basics, carried mandatory surcharges. "All-inclusive" here means paying again at the table. "Mostly-exclusive" is more accurate. They refused to refund the days before I complained. The ceiling leaked and the walls were moldy for most of our stay. When I..."Reviewed October 29, 2026Roundtrip • New York (NYC) - Mahebourg (MRU)EWR - MRU • 1 stop MRU - JFK • 1 stop$3,338$2,419found 1 day agoper traveler

"Wszystko było na plus dla mnie"
"I didn’t know what to expect when I booked this, but I can say I was not disappointed! Having come from a busy resort on a nearby island, Villa Anakao was definitely more my vibe. The room was incredible. I loved sitting out on the terrace in the evening with a glass of wine. The food was also incredible. I truly felt like I was more than just a guest here. I wish I had spent more time here, and would love to come back one day!"
"Good location overlooking the racecourse & a 25min walk to Caudan. Rooms OK for 1 or 2 nights but rough round the edges & in need of some TLC. However, AC worked well. Staff all very amenable. Good value and would use again for short stays in Port Louis."
"Hotelito agradable, tranquilo, cerca de la capital. A unos 5 minutos a pie de un supermercado, de algunos lugares para comer y de paradas de autobuses públicos. Habitación cómoda y limpia. Desayuno correcto. El personal es realmente amable, atento y muy servicial, en especial el Sr. Dayvid y la Sra. Rita, a quienes estamos muy agradecidas por todo."
"The main issue with this hotel is that the staff allowed other guests who were there in large groups to hang around outside their rooms on the balconies, playing music, talking, drinking, smoking, partying meaning that you had no privacy in your room and this went on until 11.00pm. The reception was closed at this time of night and I asked the night porter to quiet them down and he was reluctant. "They are here on holiday to have a good time, perhaps you should ask to move your room" was his...
"Excellent hôtel bien situé et bon service. À quelques pas du Caudan Waterfront, du Blue Penny Museum (un must!), du Mauritius Postal Museum."
"Staff is helpful, accommodative and excellent hospitality"
