No crabs... but still a lot of fun.
This property is as described... it is AWAY FROM IT ALL! With Covid & teaching remotely since March, the goal for the weekend was to get away from everything. This place offered that opportunity. Cell service was spotty, which was a plus to us. I didn't even bother to look at my phone while I was at the house. We went for a canoe/kayak ride with the dog to see how she would handle the water... we quickly found out that she didn't like us being separated in boats and as soon as my son's kayak was within striking range, she attacked his boat dumping all of us into the INLET! So much fun (looking back on it). So, back to shore we slogged. The water is very shallow, maybe 2.5-3 feet deep in places. But, having the boats there for us to enjoy as part of the package was why we picked this place. Very generous. We mostly enjoyed using the screened in back porch, as we were hit with rain for most of the weekend as a Tropical storm came up the coast (I'm guessing either our antics in the bay or the storm forced the crabs to deeper water... and we only caught 1 sally. We got a few pics of her and sent her back to spawn next season! Gotta keep those blues going for future generations to enjoy!!!) On the way back to shore we found many many oysters, so if you are oyster lover... you are in luck. The pier also offers a great spot for fishing with a table right there for convenience! We set up a projector and screen at the bar top table and had some good quality family time playing MarioKart on our system that we brought... and having no service, our son couldn't hide in his room on Discord with his friends... and had to talk to his parents! It was a wonderful time of reconnecting & just relaxing together. The kitchen was nicely appointed and we enjoyed big breakfasts to start the day. We got some takeout from Island House along the Atlantic coast - just a 20 minute drive due East on 180 in Wachapreague. That was delicious, and I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area... in person or take out. They were open for seating - socially distant. MOSQUITOES! We were not prepared for their ferocity, so we ventured to town to get citronella & OFF! They were a little annoying, but they didn't ruin anything. From the screened in porch we saw heron, cranes, osprey, & even a box turtle on the driveway in. Looking to get away from the hustle & bustle to enjoy some serenity and quiet? This is the place for it. No frills, just peace.

Rocket Ship Surprise!
What a great weekend get-a-way! We had an excellent time at the house, it was relaxing with a beautiful view! We were able to kayak, catch crab and cook them with all the supplies already provided. Just needed some bait and we were on our way to having a great crab boil! Added bonus, we caught a weekend with a Rocket Launch and watching it streak across the bright full moon sky was absolutely amazing!

Fun on the Bay
Nice set up for crabbing and fishing. Kayaks and Canoe provided. Very private property. Family had a good time, crabbing, fishing, kayaking and bike riding. The screened in porch and house were nice and the AC worked well to keep the house cool during hot days in August. Randy is a great guy who will do all he can to make your stay enjoyaable.
