Good ambience. Nice log fire. Plenty of room and parking space if you are driving your own car. Quiet. Very helpful and friendly owners. Excellent for Hadrian's wall walks. Very good pubs around, especially the Milecastle Inn. Sainsbury's not too far away.

Nice little holiday cottage

Posted Dec 7, 2017
I stayed in the micro cottage, it was ideal after a long drive. The room was comfortable with a settee and small kitchen which included a fridge, microwave toaster and kettle. The bedroom was delegate and very comfortable.

Great over night stop.

Pros: DOG FRIENDLY! Off the beaten track. Quiet and cosy. Didn't have to share any facilities.
Cons: Breakfast being offered.
Location: Beautiful scenery, local shops, very handy for travel, walking, cycling etc.
I booked this last minute for an over night stay on route to the highlands. A cosy, comfortable, basic place to stay. Lovely welcome despite my lateness due to A1 traffic. Had all I needed, except a breakfast, which would have been nice. Lovely and quiet. Own sitting room, bathroom and double bed. So comfy ì slept 10 hours straight! Would use again.

One night in Haltwhistle

Posted Aug 7, 2017
Beautiful farm location conveniently located for Hadrians Wall and close to village amenities. The room was actually a small cottage. It was dated and showing its age - not sure I'd want to spend a week there - but it made for a brief comfortable stay for a weary family of five. The owner was friendly and helpful.

It was cold and damp, it needed a good clean and freshened up, shower was cold. Had a long drive or would have just gone straight home, went home Sat morning a day early. Disappointed !

Pleasant country cottage

Posted Jun 3, 2017
I was in the Wren Cottage. The cottage was quiet and peaceful. It was a nice surprise to find that the kitchenette included a fridge and microwave, and tea, coffee and cereal were provided. I had a lovely view of a paddock with a pony in it. The bedroom was unfortunately damp, but otherwise comfortable. The bathroom was separated by a curtain, which could be a bit awkward if you were more than one. The location close to Hadrian's wall was very convenient, and the host and her son were very pleasant and helpful.

A comfy bed!

Ok, somewhere to stay overnight. Did not want luxury as up at 5:30am and out in the evening.

Good value for money

Posted May 1, 2017 on Hotels
Great location within walking distance Haltwhistle and Milecastle Inn/Hadrian's wall. Upgraded to larger cottage on arrival which was light and spacious. Few niggles like lamps not all working, fan in bathroom took forever to turn off and a little unclean in kitchen/bathroom but very good value for money.
