The property itself is really nice. We enjoyed our stay and it was clean and quiet. We were traveling from Boston to Knoxville, and this proved to be a nice break in our long drive home. We picked the hotel partly because it was listed as pet friendly. We booked the hotel through Orbitz and got there around midnight. After I finished checking in, I told the employee at the front desk that we picked the hotel because it was pet friendly and that we had two black lab puppies. He asked if I knew the hotel policy on pets. He explained that it was $125 fee to have your pets stay in the room. I told him I thought that was excessive since the room alone was $109. He said that was the policy. I then told him we would leave the pets in the car as we slept. He said that was illegal and we couldn’t do that. I am not against paying an extra fee to have dogs in the room my issues are:
1. Paying more for the pets then the entire room seems ridiculous.
2. I wish there was clearer pricing when we booked the hotel on the pet fee. I filtered the hotels by pet friendly, but nothing was mentioned of the $125 fee.
3. I’m not sure it’s the hotels role to tell me I can’t leave my dogs in my car overnight. Not my preference, but it was going to be 40 degrees and not too hot or cold outside.
