Discover your island paradise at this beachfront 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom vacation rental condo that sleeps 6 adults in Hauula. The 8th-story penthouse is Pat’s at Panalu’u Condominium’s largest unit, boasting 2-floors and 2,000 square feet of luxurious living space, with spectacular views of the with spectacular views of the ocean and the Koolau Mountain range. Enjoy warm, tropical waters inside a protected reef on one of Oahu’s best kept secret beaches for an unforgettable Hawaii getaway. This condo does not have AC.

The main floor features a completely open-concept design, flowing freely from the living room and dining area into the kitchen. Two futon couches facing each other and a glass-surface table that seats 4 create a comfortable sitting area, perfect for sharing cups of coffee in the morning and curling up with a favorite novel in the afternoon. This space opens to complete the living room and dining area, with a wicker sofa facing a large flat-screen cable TV and dining table that seats 6.

The fully equipped kitchen offers modern amenities, a large counter space and bar seating so your whole group can cook together and experiment with new recipes.

Step through the double, sliding-glass doors, onto the balcony and look out past the reef to watch whales breaching in the open water, sea turtle heads bobbing near shore and the sun rising over the morning horizon.

Climb the winding staircase to access the home’s two bedrooms. One bedroom offers a king-sized bed with a Tempurpedic mattress and a private balcony overlooking the beach. A pristine bathroom with marble floors and walls and a shower/tub combination is just across the hall from this bedroom.

The master bedroom is the most impressive room in the home and just had new flooring installed (Nov 21). Sliding glass doors leading to 2 separate balconies fill the room’s adjacent walls, and provide spectacular views, along with a circulation of ocean breezes and the soothing sounds of waves breaking over a tropical reef. The double sliding doors lead to the 1,800 square foot lanai that wraps around the unit’s top-floor. Before calling it a night, enjoy the master bedroom’s en suite bathroom for a private, refreshing wash in the open, walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a king sized bed, TV, private oceanfront lanai. Extra guests may use the two twin "day beds" in the living room (self-inflating air mattress or futons can also be provided).

The beach is one of the most uncrowded and safest beaches in the area. The waters are perfect for swimmers of all abilities. The protected reef area also provides a great spot to dive, snorkel, boogie board, wind surf, stand-up paddle board, kayak and fish from the shore. In this property’s backyard is Hauula Forest Reserve, where you can walk and find many trails that offer breathtaking views of the tropical, Koolau mountain area. Kahana State Park is just 2.8 miles south on Kamehameha Hwy, with beachfront camping and more fantastic hiking experiences. The Polynesian Cultural Center is about 4 miles north on the same highway, where you can experience themed multi sensory films on Hawaii’s culture and natural wonders in an IMAX Theatre.

**All properties are individually owned and furnished but will come with a basic sundry starter kit for at least 2 loads of dishes and laundry, two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and a 2-3 garbage bags for the kitchen, 2-3 garbage bags for the bathroom, hand soap for the bathroom and dish soap for the kitchen. Properties are not re-stocked like hotel rooms and for visits longer than 3-4 days, it is recommended that guests procure additional items necessary for personal use. Guests also need to bring personal toiletries.
Owner will entertain stays of 2 nights but guests need to submit a request.

Family vacation with two adult daughters
The location was amazing and there was plenty of space. The parking spot was right in front of the elevator which was great for taking in the luggage.The ocean was right there and the mountains just across the street. It was so nice sleeping at night with doors to the lanai open and the ocean breeze blowing in and the sounds of the waves. There was construction on the property but it never interfered with our stay. There were local shops within walking distance, but you had to drive 4-5 miles for a grocery. We drove up and down the coast to see sea turtles at Laniakea beach it's such a beautiful drive. Plenty of food trucks along the drive as well. Place could use a little TLC, but we would definitely stay there again if we ever make it back.

Beautiful views, condo needs several updates.
The view! I couldn’t give this property five stars in light of the rundown state of the condo and many bugs. However, you can’t beat the view. Gorgeous views from all sides – mountain and beach. Being on the 8th floor and having a lanais off of the master bedroom upstairs as well as off of the family room was wonderful. No AC, but the breezes were great and we enjoyed having some of the doors open at night (would have been better with screens!). When we weren’t out and about on the island, we spent most of our time enjoying the lovely breezes off of the water. Out and about, we enjoyed Turtle Bay, Pearl Harbor, the Dole Pineapple Plantation (they ship!), as well as the tour, luau and show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. For dinner – we recommend Pounders at the Polynesian Cultural Center. And the Aloha Shrimp food truck just down the road was great! The condo – to be truthful, the condo was pretty run down. It needs new screens on many of the windows and doors. And oddly, the master bath and kitchen counters were really tall – felt like they were customized for an NBA player. False Blister Beetles accumulated in the master bath shower to the point that we avoided using that bathroom. Many of the floors were uneven. And the designated parking space was taken at least 50% of the time that we tried to park there. Having said this, the condo was definitely clean, the beds were fine and we wouldn’t pass up the views.

Quiet, on the beach stay in rural Oahu
We enjoyed a week in this quiet area away from the city. The condo was spacious, comfortable with everything we needed. We fell asleep to the sound of waves and the breeze in the coconut fronds. We enjoyed hanging out in the condo, on the grounds and pool, walking the beach (and swimming). From there we explored the trails and area of Kahana bay, various beaches nearby, food trucks at Kahului, and then the sunset side to Haleiwa. The drive to/fro Pearl Harbor memorial was easy too! Check in & out was super easy.

Nice location with perfect views
Overall our visit was great, the check-in process was seamless and we located the property with no issues. The location is along the route to the north shore and directly on the water. Property - The property is older and does need some updates, however, this is a typical Hawaii property, and comparable to other locations in the area. The owners have started some updates, and the building is currently undergoing renovations. The ongoing construction never disturbed us or interfered with our vacation in any way. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook meals, the coffee maker worked great, and the washer and dryer was a great added bonus. The condo does not have air conditioning, however, this was never an issue, the winds coming off the water are more than enough to keep the climate comfortable during the day and at night. Area - The area is close to Laie, there is a Longs Drugs, and Food Lion within a 10-15 min drive of the condo, you can get everything at this location if you do not want to drive into the city. The Polynesian culture center is also within a 10-15 min drive, it is part of the Hukilau Marketplace that has several food trucks and Pounders Restaurant - definitely check these out, you won't be disappointed. Tip - most stores close early, between 6:30 - 7 pm, account for this and you will be fine. On Sundays, most everything in Laie is closed. If you continue north, in Kahuku there are several food trucks in a park, this is about a 20-30 min drive depending on traffic and all the options are amazing and def worth a stop. YOU MUST TRY GIOVANNI'S GARLIC SHRIMP ( you can thank me afterward lol) The main area of the north shore is Haleiwa ( Holly eva - Its pronounced like this ) there are a ton of shops and restaurants, we visited several times during the week, it was a great city with many different options. Driving - be prepared, traffic is heavy and there is no quick trip, it generally takes an hour to go into Honolulu, or to the North shore from the condo. The beaches are amazing along the north shore and several different areas to stop. If you are looking for a 5-star resort this is not the location for you, that is in Waikiki, but if you are looking for a nice relaxing environment with all the amenities, I would definitely recommend this location. I would definitely choose this location again.
