Easter in Hawker
The building and furniture are very dated. Not an issue in itself. But for old people the lounge chairs are too soft and low. The air conditioning in the kitchen does not enter the lounge dining space. It is an old through the wall rattler. Could do with ceiling fans, for extra ventilation. We were there for the Easter weekend, 25 metres away from the main homestead, at no stage did the owners make contact, to ascertain our wellbeing. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside, National Parks and Wilpena Pound, close enough to Quorn to enjoy a day out on the Pichi Richi Rail. The tariff is attractive compared to others in the area, especially as it is self-catering. Full size fridge, stove and washing machine are all available. The night sky is fantastic. Would I stay again? Yes!!

Geat cottage if you are looking for an authentic experience. Located on the homestead of a working property. Owners house was next door but they did not intrude. However the owner was extremely helpful when we needed any help. The cottage had everything we needed. Full fridge, oven, stove, coffee machine, microwave, stocked kitchen, washing machine. Easy access to Hawker and the Flinders. Beautiful sunsets and night skys. We will be back.... maybe not in the stormy season.

Flinders Ranges Summer Holidays
The little cottage was cute, and comfortably accommodated the 4 of us. There is an electric stove, fridge and comfortable beds, and fans in bedrooms, air conditioner in the living / kitchen area. The cottage is about 15 mins driver from Hawker. Hawker is the closest place to buy basic groceries, best to stock up in the summer from Port Agusta. The cottage provided us with a comfortable two night stay as we discovered the Flinders Ranges.

The serenity!
What a wonderful place to stay! The cabin is only about 8 km from Hawker but the place is utterly quiet and peaceful with views of the Flinders Ranges all around. Night sky to die for and as a special treat the farm's little dog and cat come over for visits. Never mind the decor's a little dated, it's very livable and surprisingly spacious. King bed a definite bonus.

Peaceful and quiet
This little cottage is 70's style, no frills but has all you need for a stay close to Wilpena without other people around. The sunsets are amazing and the location perfect for exploring the Flinders Ranges.

Lovely quiet location with great views
This property is in a lovely quiet location and we really enjoyed an afternoon bevvy looking at the stunning views. The host was very responsive and helpful too. Although the house is very livable, the only downside is the house inside, furniture, carpets, crockery, etc. is tired and very dated. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this stay to others, on the understanding to expect a dated interior.

Farm stay at Hawker
Comfortable cabin/cottage, bed super comfortable, quiet farm stay. Well appointed kitchen, had everything we needed including a pod coffee machine ! Place is a little dated, no wifi. Note it is about 10 minutes out of hawker on dirt country roads and 40 min from Wilpena pound. We visted amongst heavy rain period so check access to Hawker & WP. Overall nothing flash but it suited our needs for a short stay .

Great value and position
It’s a really nice little place, perhaps a little tired, but that being said it provides undeniable value for money and cleanliness is second to none. If you are looking for a rural hideaway close to all Ikara-Flinders has to offer then this is the spot. We’ll be going back.

Perfect place to access Wilpena Pound
Property as described. Great value and great location to access Wilpena Pound. We used it as a base for a couple of hikes including a bucket list epic Pound hike. It was great to come back there and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the busy Wilpena resort. Great communication and easy to access. Directions were spot on. Be sure to check out the Flinders Food Co in Hawker for breakie on your stay!

Beautiful small cottage
Beautiful small cottage which was exactly what we needed, supplied more things then we expected which is always great. The view around the house was incredible and so nice to see the sunrise over the ranges. And the cat is just so gorgeous and friendly, hangs around the house.

trip for work crazy weather
I stayed at hill view cottage twice over a 3 week period for work. Main thing with this property is that if you want a base camp to go to the flinders etc then this is a great place for you. My stay was an interesting one due to 2 pretty crazy storms, on my 2nd stay there was HEAVY rain the last night of my stay but the hosts were kind enough to lead me out a different route back to hawker and make sure i didn't get myself bogged on the way out. If you want a taste of expansive outback scenery this is the place for you, main bed is super comfy too.

Extremely quiet location which is exactly what we were after in the outback. Friendly host and we felt super safe as he was living just opposite the property with his family. The facilities are superb and we really enjoyed our 2 nights in this property. We were sitting at night outside under the stars, needed no star gazing observatory to see the magnificent sky.
