Graduation Stay
We stayed for an extended weekend during my son’s recent graduation. The property was perfect- lots of space, peaceful mornings, birds and waterfowl. It wasn’t a short drive to Gainesville commencement activities but it was a very easy drive so that was not a problem. We rented the pontoon boat and enjoyed time on the lake. I don’t think the photos did the place justice. The place had character and charm. Jackie was easy to communicate with and responded quickly when we had a last minute change- very accommodating. We highly recommend the property and hope to stay another time.

We really enjoyed our stay…absolutely loved the cabin, it was so comfortable and cozy and just the right amount of space for us. The property has a lake and a pond. We had the lake practically to ourselves and caught a lot of fish from the pond. We had excellent communication from Jackie and she was very accommodating.

Weekend Getaway
We had a great time for our weekend get away here! The cabin is great and the kitchen is stocked very well. We caught a couple of fish and our dogs loved walking the property. Jackie is amazing and was super helpful!

Perfect getaway!
Everything was amazing from the property to the house to the ambiance. Lake was perfect for boating, tubing, wakeboarding, hydro sliding and relaxing. We brought our boat and rented the pontoon as well and had a blast. House/cabin had everything you need and then some. Perfect for a group or family. We will definitely be back! Thank you again!

BEST VACATION EVER!
We booked this vacation for some much-needed relaxation, and we are so glad we did! The Cabin and the property are amazing. From floating in the lake to time in the cabin. Fishing, boating , this property has it all. We are officially regulars from here on out! We rented the boat and enjoyed our time on the water as well, that's a must! We will definitely be booking again.

Relaxing get away
The lake house was the perfect place to stay to get away from it all! Sitting on the porch watching and listening to wildlife, playing corn hole by the pond, evening cook outs under the stars and excursions on the lake in the boat and kayak all made for a wonderful family stay. Great amenities with everything catered for just like being at home. The house is nicely situated too for exploring the area for many state parks and towns to explore like Micanopy and Palatka. The hosts were great with communication throughout the booking process and our stay, thank you Jackie. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning!

Perfect Family Vacation
I don’t want to say how much my family loves this place so it doesn’t sell out!! Lol but don’t even think about it. This home and property are the most idealistic Florida Lakehouse experience you can find. It’s peaceful, big and shaded by old oaks. We also rented the pontoon boat and made so so so many sweet memories. We are ready to book our 3rd summer stay for 2024!

Awesome Lake House!
Lake house was beautiful and cozy! Had everything we needed. Views were wonderful and communication with Jackie the host was great! We rented the pontoon boat as well and enjoyed lots of lake time. Caught about a dozen bass and bluegill in the lake! Nothing crazy big but still a ton of fun! We spent 3 days but next time will go for a week, never enough time at the lake!

One of the most enjoyable weekends I have ever had
Everything was as near to perfect as possible. The house was wonderful. The Lake was wonderful. The owners were wonderful. The weather was wonderful. We brought our jet skis with us and had a blast. Great place to stay
We stayed here for a family event. Great place to stay with a group or alone. Spacious inside & the kitchen had all the equipment needed to cook or grill outside. Has a nice screened in patio, pavilion and easy accessible dock. We chose to rent the pontoon boat which we enjoyed. Fishing and bird life in abundance We will stay again. Just to remember this is located on a lake so you might want to bring mosquito spray.

Beautiful Lake Property
My husband, and I along with the dog loved the property. From Canadian geese to sand hill cranes, bluebirds, blue heron and eagles there was enough to keep a bird watcher busy. The dog loved the fenced lawn and lake. When 4 family members arrived for a short visit the lake house was large enough for us all to spread out. The kitchen is functional and the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a rental property. There was enough equipment to permit me to make sauce and meatballs, bake cookies and make a chocolate trifle. The spacious property allows for sitting and viewing the lake or the pond, relaxing in the sun or the shade. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. When the dryer malfunctioned they were there the next day with a new dryer. A wonderfully relaxing lake house out in the country.

Private and Peaceful Lakefront property with dock & sandy beach
Its a large log cabin that is like going to grandma and grandpas, but with modern conveniences. This home is placed in a very peaceful and private area with wonderful views of the lake and amazing lake breezes. We spent almost all of our time on the porch and in the lake and yard. Our dogs loved it there as well. This is a very family friendly home. If you are looking for things to do, Hawthorne is small, but Gainesville is just a half hour away.Verizon worked amazing for internet and to be used as a hotspot. Netflix works best on the tv. Thank you We loved our vacation at your home.

Great place!
The property is as advertised. The lake view is awesome. Launching our boat was a breeze. Plenty of fish in the lake, though not big fish, but we did catch fish every day. There's no TV in the master bedroom, and the internet is spotty since the property is remote. Don't expect this to work for a work retreat where you still have to be online. 40 minute drive to Gainesville if you want to go to town. Come prepared to relax. That's what we wanted and this delivered!

Relaxing Vacation
Will divide my review into 2 main areas 1) Pros and 2) Cons. PROS: Property was quiet with large back yard and good view of the lake. We rented the boat for 2 days but could only use it 1 day due to bad weather. The boat was pristine and easy to operate. The cottage was huge and plenty of space for many guests. The kitchen was furnished with every conceivable utensil known to man. We ate out every day so we did not utilize the stove or microwave. The screened in deck was wonderful. We spent a lot of evenings on the porch. The owner was easy to communicate with and helpful, answering our questions immediately. Most of the beds were very comfortable. The town of Hawthorne is close and had plenty of Cafe's and grocery stores for our stay. CONS: We were advised not to drink the tap water so we bought bottled water for our stay. The TV and Internet was TERRIBLE. We were told it was because of bad weather. However, we had a few days of perfect, sunshiny days , and could not watch ANY Tv stations during our entire stay. The Internet was the same. We tried to watch movies on the internet with our laptop computer but the movies would never load. Be prepared to do a lot of reading or playing cards every evening for entertainment.. With the exception of Kitchen lighting, the rest of the house was using VERY LOW wattage light bulbs which made reading impossible . We had to read in the kitchen area.. Overall, if something could be done with the TY reception and internet connection, and and all light fixtures with NORMAL light bulbs, these two things would have made the stay a GREAT vacation.. We really think a serviceman could straighten out the TV and Internet problems which would have allowed an overall rating of 5 stars. All cottages and homes in the area use satellite TV and Internet and I can't believe all the area residents have the same problems.

Home was very cozy and in a great private location. It was quiet and serene. Great for boating fishing and swimming! Home is large and there’s lots of room to spread out! Would definitely stay here again as they allow dogs, who had a great time swimming and playing in the huge yard!

Great time!
My family and I and our (2) dogs had an amazing time! This property is just as it's listed, if not better! The dogs had a great time in the fenced in yard, the kids had fun in the lake and on the paddle boat, and my husband and I especially enjoyed the adorable home and "country" atmosphere! My husband even caught some bass and I caught some sunfish, we enjoyed the campfire, screen porch, the rain on the tin roof and the pontoon as well! Thanks for a great mini vaca! :)

Excellent lake for swimming, skiing & paddle boarding. The cabin has rustic charm throughout & the screened porch allows you to relax outdoors without the usual Florida insects. Renting the optional pontoon boat was the biggest hit with the kids!

Wonderful cabin on the lake
The property is very big, clean and beautiful. The view around the cabin is amazing. Very peaceful and perfect for a great relaxing weekend. The accommodations in general are very comfortable. Gorgeous property with moss covered trees and ducks waddling through the yard. Very peaceful. Feels a bit like "grandma's house." Clearly a well loved property. Upstairs is adorable--very fun space for kids with lots of details in the woodwork. Excellent, prompt communication with host. Suggestions: Beds all felt too soft for our taste; perhaps firmer mattresses would appeal to more guests? Some lights were out.

The house and property were great. I appreciated the cleanliness of the home. We enjoyed the boat and dock . Unfortunately the fishing was terrible (unless you’re content with a few bluegills off the dock) but if you’re there to relax and just enjoy the beauty and property this is the place for you!
