The updated interior was gorgeous. Weather was perfect with absolutely breathtaking sunsets.Something to check - the ceiling fan in the bunk room does not work. The wooden elevator door on the ground level sometimes does not want to open. Have to work at it to get it open. And a set of steak knives would be great in the kitchen. I booked and paid for this beach place 6 months in advance for a week family vacation and we were all so excited only to show up with someone already renting this place for a week. To our surprise we literally walked in (with our kids) on folks staying to there that were halfway clothed!! Alana had just gave us the door code the day before after I had to ask for it. After calling Alana (the owner who I had been in contact with the whole booking) she informed me of a terrible mistake and another family had the place for the same week as us! She offered for us to stay in duplex next door that she thought was similar minus a few beds and in return she would refund us some money. Family was so upset and we were not about to get in the car with all our stuff and drive home so we stayed. This place did not have the same view, there was less amenities, the grill was so trashed you would never cook on it and there were roaches in the shower. To make matters worse when I text Alana to ask about how she wanted to handle refund I got nothing back. We loved how close the house was to the beach and pool! Unfortunately, the hot tub was not in use. The view is simply stellar but there are things that need attention like a good deep cleaning, replace old/stained toilets and toilet seats, upgrade kitchen items also need a couple real cutting boards, measuring cups/spoons and more glassware. Appreciated having plenty of empty cabinets and pantry for our stuff. Really enjoyed being out on the decks and the spacious living area and comfortable beds/bedding. When we walked in, it smelt like a fish fry restaurant. We thought it could have be cleaned (smelled) better upon arrival. The kitchen was left unkept with the sink and oven still dirty. These were the only complaints, not enough to spoil anything. Alana was very kind and promptly addressed any needs we had. The elevator was a blessing and a huge help bringing all our gear to the upper levels! We enjoyed fishing, crabbing and swimming (we were pleasantly surprised to see the pool was still open). The beach was beautiful! We saw dolphins almost every morning from the deck. The weather didn't always cooperate, but there are lots of indoor things to explore in the area. I highly recommend 'Let's do Sunset'. Access to the beach was easy, the pool was a nice option and the views from the house were fantastic. The views from this house were incredible. We saw dolphins, we fished, we enjoyed amazing sunsets. The house had definitely been cleaned prior to us coming, but there was wear and tear on a lot of the furnishings and not everything was wiped down very thoroughly. We rented linens and that process was very smooth and a lot easier than trying to cart everything from home. We enjoy cooking and wish that the kitchen had been a little better appointed… For example, there was no cutting board to be found, and no colander. All that said, those were minimal complaints for what was a wonderful house with incredible views, and things that are easily remedied. The owner was very responsive whenever we reached out with a request.
