Hoosier National Hideaway is a new cabin rental that is very convenient and close to Brown County, IN located in Jackson County, IN.



Hoosier National Hideaway is nestled in a secluded setting surrounded by the thousands of acres of Hoosier National Forest. This property offers a multitude of outdoor experiences as well as the opportunity to unplug and enjoy solitude and relaxation, all while totally immersed in nature! Relax in the hot tub while overlooking the forest or warm up next to the firepit.



Hoosier National Hideaway will be a memorable retreat for couples, friends or hunters looking for a woodland getaway. Outdoor activities abound right out the back door or within only a few minutes drive! Blaze your own trail through Hoosier National Forest or ride the many miles of asphalt and gravel within the forest. Take a hike or mountain bike through the miles of trails located in the Brown County State Park with some of the best mountain biking trails in the state. Charles Deam Wilderness also offers many hiking trails and sites. Jackson County is one of southern Indiana`s most scenic counties. with views of farmland, meadows and rolling hills with beautiful wooded backdrops. Visit Chateau de Pique Winery, Medora Covered Bridge, Starve Hollow, and other picturesque locations along the way!



Sundance Lake is a short 4 minute drive from the cabin and offers the most magnificent view of the 5-acre lake surrounded by hardwood and pine trees. It is one of the most scenic spots in the forest! Specifically built for fishing, it is stocked with bluegill, red ear, bass, and channel catfish. Kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats are permitted on the lake. There are 2 large piers/decks overlooking the lake where one can just enjoy the view. Whether fishing, hiking, or simply relaxing on the pier with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, Sundance Lake offers something for everyone!



Hoosier National Forest has an abundance of turkey, white-tail deer, squirrels, and seasonal mushrooms. This property is completely engulfed by the forest, creating a hunter’s paradise! Travel the woods all day and then return to the comfort of this convenient cabin to relax!



You won’t have to worry about getting “cabin fever”! Despite its remote location, the cabin is only minutes from some of Brown County’s best hot spots. Only 10 minutes away is the lovely and scenic Salt Creek Winery, overlooking miles of rolling hills! How about dinner out? The historic Story Inn is a mere 15 minute drive and offers dining, a bar, and live music.



Planning to visit the shops in Nashville? The drive there is one of the most serene and scenic drives in southern Brown County!



The most dreaded phrase while on vacation: “Oh no, I forgot something!” Well, don’t be too discouraged! Just 10 minutes away, in a little place called Freetown, is a Dollar General Store! Well stocked (including a great produce section), this little store will have whatever you need!



This property offers 1 queen size bed and 1 pull out sofa. A Roku Smart TV will allow you to stream your most favorite shows!

Perfect secluded cabin

The cabin was perfect. The hot tub was amazing, and communication with Marisa was fantastic! I highly recommend this place. We can't wait to stay here again!

Weekend Getaway

After having to cut our last vacation short, we booked this trip as its only about an hour and a half from us. The cabin really is secluded, one car passed while we were there for the weekend. It is about 25 minutes from downtown Nashville, which makes it ideal for going and staying for a while. The hiking trails in the state park are also wonderful. The hot tub is the cleanest we have seen at rental as well!

Nice private peaceful setting

Great location for quiet and peaceful stay. As nice as it is out in the country you would think they would keep up with grass being mowed though it was 10 inches tall with chiggers all in it. The owner sent us an e mail trying to get us to stay an extra night for 200 plus 10 percent discount before taxes and fees and we only paid 100 dollars a night for our stay i didn't think that was much of a discount. Overall good little cabin in middle of nothing

Great place to unplug and relax

Cozy cabin with a wonderful hot tub. Marissa is easy to communicate with. Love being able to bring our fur baby. We've been here twice and will visit again.

Travel break

We spent a night to break up a long (20 hour) road trip, and the hot tub was spectacular Never saw another human, the dog got free range of the yard, so peaceful I didn’t even light a fire, just listening to the frogs lull us to sleep

The location was very relaxing, clean, and exactly as advertised. Marisa the host was extremely courteous and nice and helped us find our way to the location when we were lost first day. She even helped us find a tow truck when we urgently needed one. Thank you!

Far enough

Perfect distance from entertainment and far enough away to be secluded. Peace and quiet in the hot tub was much needed. Everything we needed for a quick two night getaway. Thanks and we’ll be back.

We had a great time

The cabin was cute and private and secluded on a beautiful property. It was small but had everything we needed. The hot tub was our favorite place. Everything was clean and worked. The only thing I would change is maybe a new couch it was not very comfortable (I have a bad back) and since it was the only place to sit you couldn't avoid it and the skillets are warn and everything stuck to them that we made. We managed though and had a good couples getaway!

Weekend getaway

We had a lovely time in the cabin. Its size is perfect for a couple. Amenities were as advertised, and the hot tub was a dream. The bed is very comfortable. Within 5 minutes of Sundance Lake. We went fishing but it was too cold to catch any. I suggest taking all your supplies, Dollar General was well stocked but extremely expensive.

Love Being Out in the Sticks!

This little cabin is a real treat! There are no houses in sight. And barely a few on the road, so it’s very quiet. Linens and towels were wonderful, and we had everything we needed there…Except a kitchen table. So just beware, eating is done off the coffee table, which we managed just fine. If the weather had been better, there’s a table and chairs on the back deck and there’s a big front porch, which I imagine they have chairs in the summer. So I would love to come back during warm weather and enjoy the property again. Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend it.

Little cabin that soothes the spirit

If you want to get away from it all & enjoy the peace, quiet, stars, critters and good smells of nature, you’re in the right spot.Just the right amt of space for me, my tall boo and pup to enjoy each other’s company inside and out. We got to explore in the woods (no trails), have some great fires (they have wood you can purchase on site), eat some food (all the necessary kitchen things) and soak it all up in the hottub (soooo nice just a little shallower than a typical tub, so was happy just the two of us!)The small touches go such a long way. We were welcomed w some sweet local goodies, a binder of all you need to explore and be safe (food & fun and hospitals), a clean cabin and even robes to help get to and fro the hottub. You can tell they take pride in this sweet little spot and are enhancing the experience from what the pics even showed. We want to come back soon and do a bit more exploring in the woods! Highly recommend for a great experience from booking & communication to the place itself. Thanks for helping us to soothe the souls and get back to a better headspace!

Lovely Cabin in the Hills of Brown County

A wonderful relaxing stay. Everything was better than we expected . I believe 6 cars passing by was the total we counted Yor our stay. We chose that location to view the meteor shower and do some telescope work but the weather did not cooperate. Though we caught an hour window Tuesday morning at 3:00am. The string lights On the back porch went out in Monday nights rain . Tried to reset GFI but no luck. The hot tub was a big plus for us. As we have o very similar Hot Springs model at home so we are addicted, lol. The Apple turnovers were most welcome as dinner due to our late arrival. All in all it was a calm ,relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. The dog boys , 2 25 & 28 lb.mini - labradoodles, loved the big yard and the opportunity to be off leash at times. Everything was perfect! Plenty of dishes, cabin was spotless, charcoal for grilling was available, the wood was ready for the fire pit, Internet and TV was great, if you stayed in side. We will definitely stay again. Perfect for a couple.
