We wanted to stay at the new AC hotel since it opened. Now we've done that, and won't do it again. We were very pleased at first - the rooms are nicely furnished, and we had a great view of Big Spring park. We had dinner at the hotel. Food and drinks were quite expensive, but that was expected. Service was fine. Back in the room, the toilet had a rectangular seat which looked cool, but was super uncomfortable! And the door to the bathroom was sliding frosted glass, which meant the light from the bathroom lit up the whole bedroom - not great if someone gets up in the middle of the night. And only overstuffed King size pillows were available (no standard option), so made for an uncomfortable sleep. And we could hear all our neighbors, too: music from the left, conversation from the right, and constant furniture movement from above. At least there would be breakfast to look forward to, right? Wrong. We went down to the buffet and there was nothing there! A few cups of yogurt, some granola, and a couple slices of bread. No eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits - nothing, and yet they wanted $15 per person for the buffet. We turned around and left, as did most people apparently since it was 9:00 on a Sunday morning and only two people were down there eating. Embassy Suites is across the street, and that's where we'll be staying next time - free evening drinks, free full American breakfast, comfortable amenities and privacy, all for a cheaper price.
