"Just a quick stop before we flew home - only 3 miles from the airport via side roads was a dream! Cute little hotel- not fancy, but enough beds for all, a good little variety at breakfast and we'd definitely plan to start and/or end future trips from this friendly little place!"
"Our first visit to Costa Rica. We were impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of the Costa Rican people. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, and include a TV, air conditioning, a safe, bathroom amenities, bed linens, and a coffee machine. A shuttle service to and from the airport is available. The car, frankly, isn't very comfortable (especially if you have large luggage), but that's not the main issue. We had a decent breakfast: an omelet, fruit, juice, coffee, a slice of bacon, cheese, butter, and jam. The staff is pleasant, but not everyone speaks English. The reception staff was great! They were welcoming and friendly! The grounds around the hotel are beautifully maintained, and the pool is clean. Birds sing in the mornings, and the air is incredibly fresh. People from big cities will understand! Overall, Costa Rica has incredible nature, climate, and ocean views! We loved the hotel. We recommend it and will come back again! Thank you so much guys! 🤗🙏❤️"
"Breakfast lovely and fresh, location perfect for after arriving before heading to La Fortuna. Host was great super friendly and interesting. Room was a great size with views over the garden with lots of wild birds."
COZY HOUSE IN LA GARITA. NEAR THE AIRPORT, RURAL AREA, POOL, PRIVACY & SERENITY
10/10 Excellent
"The place was beautiful and close to everything. There is a mini mart just around the corner and 20ish minutes to Walmart. There was all sorts of birds and wild life to watch out of the tall living room windows"
"The blinds were so thin you can see inside the rooms. The door had no locks from the inside. Ants were always everywhere even at dinner time. Only one sweet lady who did an amazing job running the entire place and it seemed like I was the only one there at the time. This spa is not a good place too stay. Not even an iron or air conditioner was in the rooms at all either and list goes on. Stay away!"
"I plan on returning. The hotel is nestled in the heart of San Jose, it's a huge property. I chose it for the decor/culture of Costa Rica. I swam in a pristine Olympic sized pool, I saw several iguanas, and I don't know how many bird species and in the ceiling of my room, what I thought was a mouse, was actually a bird nest with new hatchlings, which was a bit disturbing when I was sleeping. I was offered another room, it wasn't as nice, so I declined. Understanding Costa Rica embraces nature and tries not to disturb the natural habitats so they didn't remove the bird family. I adapted, it wasn't too bad. I will say bring/use insect repellent. There are few screens on any windows (in Costa Rica), which is the norm. Each day there were many insects dead in my room, I used spray to avoid bites. They conserve energy so the main building is open, no a/c just fresh air and fans. The building is open, anything may fly or crawl through the lobby or your room if you have your patio door open.
The staff was beautiful, professional and so kind.
The deep tissue massage was deep.
The food was delicious and not expensive. Not sure if free refills were free, one said no, the others gave them to me. Caesar salad, calamari and a entree with ginger ale was $33.67. If you want to be as close to being a local, I suggest the location. Feels like the ambulance just made me want to sit and enjoy each moment. Bring washclothes they only give towels and hand towels. Older charming resort."
