"Hired the main house + three cottages for a group 40th birthday party in mid Aug-22. As long as you understand that your little away from the main Lake District location, then this place is perfect. House / cottages were all kitted out with modern appliances, had a good number of ensuite bedrooms and were all spotlessly clean. I was initially a little skeptical about hiring a number of separate cottages (rather than another location with one big house) but it actually worked much better....

Each couple had their own bathroom although the one by the front door was not ensuite but this was not a problem for us.The sofa is huge and we were all able it sit/stretchout comfortably. "Big house with great sized rooms and plenty space for our 15 adults and 5 children. Hot tub was great. Living space/bar area very roomy and open. The owners were very flexible with the Sunday checkout times which was nice of them. The kitchen is a professional kitchen (for the weekday BnB purpose I guess) so not quite the social space that you're used to in a more traditional house. "Staff at reception very friendly and informative. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our lodge and although we didn't take part it looked like there was lots of activities going on (this didn't disturb us) Our lodge was bigger than expected and clean Lots of cutlery and plates to use and a filter coffee machine which was a lovely touch. The property is easy to get to and a good base for exploring the area. "
