Gleneagle hotel Kilarney

Posted May 16, 2012
Pros: Reception staff, plenty to do if the weather is bad, good breakfast, rooms easily accessible, ease of parking
Cons: sunday and mondays breakfast managers had a bad attitude, had mould on the brown bread i was eating-no apology, the bread was just taken away
Location: brilliant, close town and the park
disapointed with hotel,it was more suited for coach groups, felt a bit dated.our rooms needed updating but girl on reception was brilliant and moved us to better rooms.rooms were very clean but have stayed in better for the price charged.attitude of breakfast managers very bad-if you not in a group they didn't want .know.this was on the sunday and monday.Irish staff very friendly .Reception area felt very tired which made you feel like the rest of the hotel needed upgrading

Nice hotel, nice location

Posted Dec 28, 2011
Pros: The staff were very kind, courteous and patient. These characteristics are especially helpful for a family with a young child.
Cons: The walls seemed paper-thin and the room doors slammed shut.
Location: The hotel is on the outskirts of town in a quiet location. The hotel is also within a couple kilometers of the Killarney National Park.
This hotel seems to cater mostly to older tour groups. However, the amenities (including the pool area for kids) are also suitable to families.

Not worth the money

Posted Aug 11, 2007
This hotel is not worth the money! The public areas including the bars and restaurant were fine with good entertainment and food nightly, which was reasonably priced. The room which we stayed in was below par to say the least, a distinct whiff of damp, a dodgy toilet and a faulty T.V remote were just a few of its failings. In short a complete refurbishment is needed to bring this hotel back to where its price suggested it was. We did expect more from this hotel which just didnt deliver. There are better hotels in Killarney than this for the money, just make sure to check them out before booking with this hotel!!
