"Had a lovely stay. Views were stunning. Cottage is pretty basic but clean and has everything you need. The walk into Ambleside is only a few minutes which is perfect for grabbing groceries or going out for a meal. The host, Linda was great and answered any questions quickly. We would return."

"We have raved about this house to so many people. It was beautiful and spacious and right near some amazing hikes. This area is breathtaking. Working with the host was very easy and they were very responsive. We highly recommend this home. If you don't have a rental car, make sure you come prepared with some food (as there is only 1 pub nearby, and it has unpredictable hours). We hope to return one day!"

"This was our second holiday at High Bield - we stayed 2 years ago. It is a very special place to stay as it is in a wonderful location. We only used the car twice during the one week we stayed because all the walks and cycle rides could be done from the house. Windermere station was only a short drive away so we could easily pick up family arriving from London. Weather wasn’t what we expected in early June - warm for the first couple of days then much cooler with rain for the rest of the week...

"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We had a very comfortable 8-night stay. It’s set in a very quite village with beautiful views of Wensleydale, exactly what we wanted. It was clean, had a good shower and equipped with everything we needed, including some kids toys and dvd’s which came in handy. "Very nice property. The unit appeared to be brand new. Unit was fully equipped with everything needed for our stay. The development has other amenities but we did not use them like a pool and rec building. Great location in the Lakes District for jumping off to see other locations in the area. The host was very responsive to requests via the VRBO app. My only negative would be the poor internet quality. It frequently kicked us off or was unusable for periods of time."

"Excellent and charming renovated period buildinh with very responsive communication before and during stay. 15min walk from train station and business terminus and 10min into town center. Beautiful and serene garden and patio. Quality of the rooms and amenities are high/new. ‘Kozy’ rooms are best for short stays as they are truly cozy, especially sinks in the bathroom. For long stays, chose a regular/double."

"What more could you ask for than a property where the supermarket (and many eateries) are around the corner and the bus stop is opposite the front door. Rayrigg is perfectly located, with a bus every 20 mins to take you to the railway station (about a 10 minute walk) or to other towns in the District. "This property was immaculate- decor beautiful bright and modern very clean as expected. Rather expensive as parking and breakfast not included Spa - good facilities but rather dark and not a fan of alcohol being served and consumed around the pool and jacuzzi Room was spacious bathroom a little cramp not enough hooks for wet swimwear/gown or to store personal toiletries. Would of expected face cloths and complementary tissues/cotton pads for five star establishment Bed pillows bed linen excellent. Would have preferred TV opposite the bed (not a picture of Polo players ?? ) Only had a bar meal which wasn’t great. Did not use the other restaurant as took advantage of fine weather and dined out in Bowness Lovely outside chill out area plenty of seating all the staff were lovely and very helpful. Shame the music aimed at 30- 40 plus (young professionals) which was fine but some a bit repetitive. Am sure a residential piano/keyboard/ saxophone player would add to the ambience of this hotel. Excellent distance to walk into Bowness Really enjoyable stay"
