Great spot in Poipu
If you want to stay in the heart of Poipu but not have to be in a hotel/condo this is a great house option. It's small and simple but feels legit-Hawaiian in the best of the ways. Location is fantastic.

Family getaway
Good stay for 3 people. Easy walk to beach. Lovely sunrise and sunsets. Plenty to do on the island. Can be as busy or as quiet as you like to be there. Host was very nice and fresh fruit he brought to us was much appreciated!

The Best Place We’ve Ever Stayed in Hawaii!
This was such a lovely, comfortable, cozy cottage. We felt so at home here! Montgomery and Julie are friendly, helpful hosts, the cottage was clean, and beautiful touches like orchids in the house. An easy stroll to swimming beaches. We will be back! If you are someone who prefers something a little more home and neighborhood than the hotels and condos, this is it!

Great Place to Recharge
Comfortable and conveniently located. We loved being a short block from the beach and amazed at the sea life. The cottage had everything we needed (fans in each room were really effective) and was close to many great restaurants. Can’t wait to return!

Delightful cottage within east and close walking distance to Poipu and Brennecke’s Beaches
A beautiful home, perfect for our family’s visit to Kauai! Easy walking distance to Poipu and Brennecke’s Beaches. A short drive to restaurants, shopping, and Shipwreck Beach. Nice floor plan and size of cottage for our family. The outdoor lava shower was a nice bonus, and we enjoyed the front porch for meals and visiting! The property owner was attentive and had great recommendations for restaurants and nearby places to visit. Highly recommend.

If we ever return to Kauai we would stay here for sureagain
This was a perfect house! We had 3 adults and one child and all of the accommodations worked great for everyone. The place was beautiful and clean and more than we expected from the pictures. The check in and out process was a little difficult, especially because we had an early flight and had to take the keys to a different agency. But other than that we had no complaints and we so happy with our choice, it was a wonderful house in a wonderful location.

Location is everything
The location is 5 star! It's a quick 2 min walk to the beach, and the front porch is private and beautiful. The furnishings are very basic, although there's not much reason to spend much time inside!

Best location and wonderful home!
It was perfect. I’m a mom who took three kids in their early 20s. Everybody found activities that suited them. Easy access to beaches for snorkeling, swimming, sun bathing and our favorite, body surfing and boogie boarding. Great food was easy to be found nearby. I would definitely recommend this property!

Nice island cottage in perfect location
This cottage is perfect for a family of 4-6. It’s got a beautiful island feel. Nicely furnished. It’s cozy and comfortable. The tree out front is incredible and shades the house perfectly from the hot sun. The yard is beautifully landscaped. One thing I didn’t see in the description Is the fact that it shares the driveway with a second house in back. It’s nicely separated and the people there were very quiet and inconspicuous. This was not a big deal for us. Just worth knowing. The house location is perfect. A short barefoot walk to the beach, perfect for kids to boogie board and snorkel. House came with a boogie board and a couple sets of snorkel gear as well as beach chairs and umbrella. So we’ll stocked with beach gear. Overall a great spot to stay! The only other thing I would mention is the check in check out process, which requires picking up and dropping off the keys at the rental agency in Lihue. It’s close to the airport, so not a huge burden, but it takes extra time and planning when you are really wanting to just get to the cottage or back to the airport. A coded entry or key lockbox on the property would solve that easily. Other than that, check in and check out are a breeze. Couldn’t have asked for more from the plantation cottage!

Great Family Place
This was a great place for my wife and two teens. Each teen got there own room. No AC, but big shade tree and sea breeze kept things cool at night. Close enough to the beach. Plenty of room, outside shower helped alleviate the normal one bathroom only issues. Kitchen well equipped for a rental. Overall a great feel to the place, far from the cookie cutter feel at the resorts.

Peaceful paradise
This beautiful cottage was just the right size for 3 of us. Porch was private and quiet for meals and just relaxing. Loved the roomy outdoor shower and grateful for the shampoo, conditioner, soap provided. So close to the best beach on the island with great snorkeling…a short walk! Owner very kind in many ways but leaving bananas fresh from his tree was special! Memorable and refreshing stay! Highly recommend this house!

Enjoyed our vacation in paradise
This sweet little property is just what we hoped it would be. It is decorate in old Hawaiian charm with all the modern things you will need. Just a block from Poipu beach. The home was fully equipped with any and everything we would need for our stay. We even had the chance to meet the owner and he brought us fresh bananas and fruit! Would stay here again!!

Great Cottage next to beaches
Cottage is adorable and conveniently located next to Brennecke’s and Poipu beaches. It offers a lot of charm missing in the condos that dominant the area. Although it looks small it provides a lot of space with two decent sized bedrooms and on small bedroom with a twin bed. It also has a kitchen and separate dinning area. One small bathroom but the outdoor shower is great addition that frees up the bathroom and prevents a lot of additional sand from making it into the cottage. We loved our stay and would highly recommend the cottage. Access to the unit was made very easy as they dropped off information and keys at our rental car agency. No additional stops were needed. They also provided information regarding road closures and a schedule for road work on the North side.

We loved the Plantation Cottage!!! It was exactly what we wished for and even more...a sleepy little hideaway in the middle of an overgrown tropical garden on a dead end street. The short walk to the ocean was so perfectly simple and beautiful!!! Thank you for this precious slice of tropical heaven💜

Perfect location, House was adequate
The location could not be beat. It was perfect walk to the beach with my two year old and my 65 year old mother in law. The house was okay. Beds were comfortable, the outdoor shower was wonderful. The house had plenty of products that were nice like laundry detergent, paper towels, etc... the house was also a little dirty. It had an old Hawaii way that was endearing. There was no air conditioning but the way the house was situated it had great air flow and shade. The only time it was an issue was in the early mornings the birds would make a ton of noise right out the windows. No sleeping in for us but we were fine with that and enjoyed the mornings. The grounds were well manicured and felt very private. The house could have used better, and more, fans as well as more directionals like how to get into the laundry. The front porch is perfect for reading a book in the rain showers. The back patio area is nice for barbecue time. The kitchen is much to hot if we tried to cook inside. The bbq needs an update but it’s adequate and likely the salty environment causes those to need frequent changes. My only major complaint was the management group that ran the house was not helpful and made things really difficult for us. Alternatively, the actual owner and her friend were very helpful and we were lucky to have run into them. Overall I would say that we would probably stay there again and the vast majority of that is due to its perfect location, excellent grounds/front porch, and very helpful owner.

The perfect cottage in paradise!!!
The Plantation cottage was the perfect home base for our summer vacation. Location was beyond perfect. The house is 1/2 block from the beach. Tropical vegetation around the house is beautiful, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, amazing outdoor shower, and never ending fresh mangos from the tree in the backyard. I highly, highly recommend you stay here. You won't be disappointed.

Paradise and More
When planning our trip to Kauai, we specifically looked for a vacation rental that was not a hotel or condo, but a free-standing home. We could not have been happier with our choice of the Plantation Cottage. It is located a couple of blocks from one of the most beautiful beaches in Kauai. Staying in the cottage gave us the true feeling of what it must be like to live in Kauai. Shortly after our arrival, we met the owner of the cottage, who could not have been more warm and welcoming. He gave us valuable suggestions about places to eat and sights to see during our stay. One of the fondest memories is of the many birds that sing from the trees on the property, which is landscaped with many tropical plants and flowers. There is even an outdoor shower constructed of lava rock. The house provided more than enough space for the two of us. The kitchen has all the tools necessary to prepare a meal and the porch is the perfect spot to enjoy your breakfast! We were genuinely sad to leave after our eight day stay. Yes, we are already talking about returning to the plantation cottage and Kauai.

Was just husband and I with more than enough space and a quick wonderful walk to Poipu Beach park. Cosy lanai with beautiful landscaping. Would have had more than enough room for our two children as well. Absolutely perfect!

Calm spot steps from a beautiful beach
Charming, comfortable house in a first-rate location. Don't miss the fun bar with a great happy hour in the other direction from the beach, palachaki Joe's. There are 3 decent sized bedrooms, but they all share doorways and the windows are always open during the warm season so don't expect any sound privacy.

Nettes Cottage in der Nähe des Strandes
Einfach, aber sauberes Cottage in Gehdistanz von Poipu Beach. Montgomery, der Besitzer des Hauses, war sehr nett und hatte ein paar gute Tipps (Restaurants etc.). Organisation durch die Agentur war perfekt, wir wurden über alles früh genug und genau informiert.
