We enjoyed our stay at the Candlewood Suites in New Bern. Our room was quite spacious, the bed comfy, and the kitchen unit was great for preparing breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring New Bern and it was wonderful having this comfortable space to return to in the evenings. The lady at the desk was helpful in recommending sights to see - and the complimentary cookies were yummy. It was nice having so many restaurants nearby. We would stay there again.

The only thing that really bothered me is we had 6 in our party and it says it sleeps 8, but only 2 of the beds had bedding. There were 2 more sets of sheets but no blankets and the fold out bed was not even sleepable for the kids it was so uncomfortable so 2 slept on the couch as it was. We had to go buy extra blankets for the other beds as they didnt come with them. I know we got a great rate and dishes wise it had everything we needed, but it could use minor updates. Also the toilet backed up into the bathtub the last night so we couldnt use the second bathroom. But otherwise it was good. They let us check in way early and leave an hour late, which helped a lot. I would just suggest blankets for all the beds in the future along with replacing the foldout bed. We did have the best spot, right next to all the ammenities though.

The property was beautiful and quiet. Outdoor pool area was absolutely beautiful and so wasn't the pool. Got to to see nature at its finest, first thing in the morning. For the most part is was "clean". When we walked in we could immediately smell the old musty closed in smell.. Upon first inspection the place was beautiful. Unfortunately, the place wasn't as clean as we initially realized. We found 2 dead roaches, after our first full day we had a live one walking across the livingroom floor. The pots and pans were horrible. I could not even cook my family food, everything stuck to the pan. The blinds were covered in cobwebs and dead flies and such. I'd honestly give it a 5.5 for a rating. There are other rentals belonging to the property, I'm willing to give them another shot but at a different rental property.

Really good stay and the price, room and staff was outstanding!!!!
