ITS ALWAYS GREAT HERE...FISHING ON YOUR PRIVATE PIER, MOONLIGHT STROLLS ALONG THE BEACH OR WATCHING SUNSETS ON THE BAY FADE INTO STAR LIT NIGHTS.

There are not many of these...Enjoy your own private lighted fishing pier, witness spectacular sunrises over the Gulf and sunsets over Little Drum bay. And best of all, if you bring your boat, you can launch and park next door at the paved, private boat launch and leave your boat parked at our private pier.

Completed in June 2008, this home has two very large covered balconies facing Little Drum Bay. Watch the kids fish on the lighted pier while you gently sway in the futon hammock designed to hold two adults. Read your favorite book, nap or sip on your favorite drink while watching the spectacular sunsets.

Inside you can relax in the spacious and open floor plan designed to accommodate groups of all sizes. The kitchen has all-stainless steel appliances. Gourmet cooks enjoy being able to prepare their favorite dishes, listening to their favorite music while gazing at the views of the bay.

Three bedrooms are upstairs but one is downstairs for the occasional late night arrival or grandpa's snoring.

The beach is only 1.5 blocks away. Load up the chairs, umbrella and cooler and putter over to the beach to build sand castles, wake board, surf-fish or just kick back and enjoy the views. When you come home, rinse off under the outdoor shower with hot and cold water.

At the end of the day, you can play board games with the family, sit out under the stars, make smores over the fire in the firepit or watch movies or TV.

There are a variety of other activities which include local restaurants, putt-putt golf, Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn water park, the confederate air force museum, and The Strand, a world class shopping area in Galveston.

There is no better value in a family vacation that offers this many options.

Wonderful Gulfside Property
My sister and I were surprising our parents with a trip to the beach and this was the perfect place for us. We took family pictures on the pier, got sunburned on the beach, went fishing and enjoyed the day. I didn’t see a fire pit but with the weekend being so humid and mosquito-y we didn’t spend too much time outside except the last night when we went fishing. If we ever went back to the gulf this is where we would stay.

Absolutely stunning! We all, hands down, agreed it was one of the best last minute planned getaways ever. The house is cozy, welcoming and very comfortable. If you are looking for technology, this is not it. The wifi was very good but the tv is basic - no streaming in the family area. There is a FireStick upstairs but who cares. The view, the water and the highlight in our opinion was the double decks. We literally lived on the decks. The sunrise and set are amazing. Two never came down. I fished (last minute decision) and caught stingrays, crabs, catfish and crocker. Extremely relaxing. The owners are so sweet! The previous reviews are spot on so I will not repeat - we needed nothing except food. Can't wait to come back.

Best ever!
This is the only place I will ever stay at Surfside. I love the owners and the place is perfect. Every time we stay here we build new outstanding memories!!! The owners are so awesome, especially if you need help or have questions. Their goal is to always make sure you have fun!!! We enjoyed our stay. Overall, we are very happy with the property, amenities, and the stay we were offered. Some of the deck railing was missing which left holes large enough for my toddler to potentially fit through. We didn’t let her get close enough to the edge anyway, but if she had, it could have potentially be dangerous. Inside could have been cleaner upon arrival, but it was fine. There were some ants inside. We really did enjoy our stay though! And we loved the space we had for the amount of people we brought.

Great Stay!
We highly recommend this home! It was beautiful staying right on the bay and out of the hustle and bustle of the city! We enjoyed the dock and sitting on the upper patio watching the sunsets! Our grandkids loved riding their scooters on the patio and it was great being so close to the beach! Most days the beach was pretty empty so we felt like we had it all to ourselves! We would love to stay again!

Wonderful weekend getaway with family- kids age 2 to 86! Great bay home with a wonderful view of the bay and sunset providing great bird watching. Beach just a short walk away. We had a great time and hope to return.

Escaped the Rat Race
We enjoyed our time here. It was tranquil and full of nature. We spent lots of time on the main deck watching the birds and fish. We liked being so close to the beach and had a fun day trip to Galveston. We cooked at the house and enjoyed down time with family. My brother-in-law caught several fish off the pier and a crab that scurried off the pier into the water quickly.

Great for fishing or just relaxing by the water
We enjoyed our time here. We were sent information on how gain access to the home well in advance of our arrival. The home was spacious and clean; no bugs. Lots of appliances in the kitchen such as the crockpot, air fryer/toaster oven and electric griddle allowed for lots of meals at home. Fresh drinking water was provided. The dock out back was fun to try fishing, though we didn't catch anything. The fire pit was nice to sit at in the evenings; firewood was provided. Took just a few minutes walking to get to the beach. Our view of the bay was beautiful. A cold front blew in the day before we left bringing heavy winds and rain from the west; the double doors that opened up to the back deck held up and kept the rain out and the floors dry. When we were stuck inside due to the weather, there were plenty of cable TV stations to choose from.

Family gathering
Several of us came together for a wedding in the area. This included 7 adults and 3-5 children at times 8 yrs old and under. Although the living area isn't huge, we never felt cramped or lacking space. The bedrooms were decent size and comfortable. Plenty of linens for everyone. We really enjoyed relaxing on the large deck over looking the sound. There is also very easy beach access that is no more than a five minute walk. Only things I would improve on is a few loose banisters on the deck made us a little leary with the children playing. Also the keyless entry was very finicky and gave us some trouble getting in a few times. Lastly, there was an odd odor when we first entered. It becomes unnoticeable after a little while but is kind of unpleasant at first. I will say be sure to bring ice because there are no ice cube trays or an ice making refrigerator. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return.

Great House
Very clean and not a single bug indoors, in response to a recent review. The beds were comfortable and the house has everything you may need. Very fast internet and DISH network. My husband and son caught several redfish from their kayaks. We plan to return.

House was as described and had all the amenities. I really only had one complaint and that is the fact that there were roaches in the house. I paid over a thousand dollars for 4 days and had to deal with roaches. Over all house was great but needs to be exterminated. Would have given them 5 stars if not for the roaches.

Great location and size
Our family of five had a great time at the property. Plenty of opportunities to fish and crab from the dock. Friendly patrons use the ramp next door for kayaking. The beach is a short walk away. The host was communicative and helpful. There is plenty of space and good amenities. Like many rental properties, a few things could use updating. But overall, 5/5 experience, would stay again.

Relaxing Labor Day Weekend
The Rental property was as described Perfectly and Stocked with all the Essentials. The Sun rise and beach views with a cup of coffee were amazing. The afternoon Sunsets on the dock fishing are Exceptional. Julie was Very Pleasant and Accommodating. Wish the Fishing and Weather had been better, but overall Our Stay was more than we could have Expected and Relaxing. House was great and host sent lots of communication about property and instructions on accessing property. Free beach accessing a short walk away, or you can drive your car out onto beach. Mosquitoes were horrible, swarmed you if you went outside, so be sure to bring bug spray!

Overall, we all had a fantastic time at this property. The beach house has decorated beautifully and very clean! The three bedrooms were great, but the 4 small beds in the bunk room were a tad short for our six ft plus young guys lol. We had also counted on the sofa bed in the pics online, but that was changed to a curved sectional. We did use the extra mattress and made it all work! There were a total of 3 toilets, 2 baths with tub/showers, and an outdoor "shower/pipe" with hot and cold water that was great! House was supplied well with everyday items, and we loved the big kitchen table. Views from the bay deck were very pretty and relaxing, with 6 large plastic chairs and more for lower area. The deck rails need some repair, however, and the lights on the pier wouldn't come on. There was a canoe, but the storage area was too cluttered to easily get to it. Getting to the beach was a very short drive with easy access. Beach was very clean and pretty, and not crowded at all during the week. We would rate the beach property and beach both 5 stars overall!! Thank you for sharing it with us! 🙂

This property is great for family to go to the beach and to crab and fish. It is right on the marsh side with a deck so you can catch crab and fish sometimes. The fish were not biting this time but we did catch two dozen crabs each night in regular hoop nets. The house has everything you need in the kitchen. The bathrooms are nice and the bedrooms are very large. Downstairs under the house is all cement and is a great place to sit to feel the breeze and to play any kind of games you would want with the children out of the sun. Garage area has anything you need to use for barbecuing and going to the beach. We did find the white binder in the living room. Make sure you read that and you can go get all the drinking water you need. Also it has all of the food establishments listed. There is no large grocery store near the property so you may want to stop in Freeport and get your things. My family has stayed here before and noticed a few things that were needing of attention. The owners fixed everything that needed attention and we will be staying again.
