9.8/10 Exceptional! (209 reviews)
Room was as expected, bed was comfortable as you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Bathroom was large as well and had the hotel branded goods. For the breakfast area, there was an option to sit outside, which was pleasant. Plenty of options as well and the staff where ready at hand to address any requests.
We used Catania as base to explore the surrounding sites, but the city itself was larger than I thought and had some interesting things to see. The cathedral and main shopping street are within walking distance of the hotel and was fairly busy throughout our time.

Great staff. Clean. Only problem was the Resturant: the food was not good. They should explore a new option regarding the executive chef. Other than that we loved the hotel.

To our surprise, on checking in we were given an upgrade to a junior suite at the Hotel Metropol. This is an exceptional property, very clean, beautiful architecture, unique setting and very friendly, helpful staff.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,007 reviews)
"The hotel was really nice, with a beautiful view. We also stayed in one of the renovated spaces and everything was top-notch. The hotel experienced a power outage one day after a storm, which was not in their control, but our room then had no electricity or running water. Just something to be aware ..."
