"A Hidden Gem in the Andes – A Truly Unique Stay! Staying at Refugio Atreyu was an unforgettable experience! Nestled at the base of the majestic high Andes, just 50km from Santiago Airport and 30km from Vallé Nevado, this charming refuge provided a one-of-a-kind retreat. The room I stayed in was both rustic and cozy, with a natural rock feature that protruded into the room and even extended into the bathroom – a quaint touch that added so much character and connection to the surrounding nature. Breakfast is included, and one of the highlights was being able to cook my own eggs just the way I like them! The flexibility and personal touch made mornings feel just like home. For dinner, you can enjoy a variety of delicious options for about US$20, making it a great value considering the quality and local flavors. Additionally, there’s a covered pool inside a dome, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring or skiing. Although the drive to the ski fields involves some thrilling hairpin switchbacks, it’s well worth it. Being able to stay in this peaceful haven rather than in more commercialized and expensive options closer to the slopes made my trip so much more relaxing. It truly felt like a home away from home with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for an affordable yet authentic Andean experience, I highly recommend Refugio Atreyu. Beautiful Ski Chalet for rental in La Parva Resort

Unreal La Pravda sunsets!

"The town of La Parva is cute but not much to do. There’s 2 restaurants. An amazing small quaint Fondue spot where you can get to know the owner and staff, which I did! There is no washer n dryer in the unit and the staff at La Marmita let me use the resturants washer/dryer!!! The other restaurant was bigger with a more traditional menu and outdoor seating. If you go, you must bring food from the grocery store to cook from Santiago. The road up/down from Santiago is about 100 switchbacks. Very steep. It took us almost 2 hours to get there and only 1 hour to get down. The actual apt is very well equipped for cooking, but I didn’t bring enough food from Santiago to cook meals! There is a super small convenience store by the lift ticket window that you can get eggs/potato/bread/veggies and snacks. Very basic stuff. It’s the size of a bathroom. The skiing was MAGNIFIENCT!!! The apt is 100 steps from the La Parva ski school however my kids wanted to ski at Valle Nevado only. So we had to drive them 30 min each morning to that mountain. There’s El Colorado 15 min. Fallceones 10 min away. La parva outside your door!!! Great place with a great deck. AMAZING VIEWS!"

Power shortage

"This property is very close to the lift but that is about it.... We got there and had a snow storm and lost power for 3 days and we were not offer an explanation, when I asked when we could expect the lights to be back they almost took offense to answer and said they had no ideia but I should be happy they had a small generator and pawer the shower and one outlet in the kitchen. I get it that you can control a snow storm but they weren't prepared at all. So we couldn't use any facilities at the place because of power shortage and I had to leave 2 days before the end of my trip and when I asked if we could get some money back they said absolutely not. Yes I paid ahead and that was a mistake. So if you make plans to go here make sure you ok to be strand if a snow store hit. No lifts were working because power shortage and the restaurant had not enough food so half of the menu wasn't available. It was def a learning experience. The staff from the office were really nice but couldnt help much as they didn't know how, but they try really hard. The lady from maintenance was very rude and dismissive. Very stressful travel. "

"Our stay couldn’t have been better. The food for breakfast as well as the dinner menu is all incredible and the staff was so kind: we had some early morning tour departures and they made us little packed breakfasts each morning. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful, with a small little strip of dining and stores about a 15 minute walk away "
