Lovely, cozy apartment in a great location!
The aoartmebt was exactly as promised, with an incredible view onto the Piazza Anfiteatro, close to everything in Lucca. The amenities were wonderful… however, the washing machine was very tough to figure out, with only indecipherable symbols and a door we couldn’t open to get our wet clothes out. The stairs are difficult but since we went later to Positano, it was good preparation! My only frustration was with reaching the property manager. She was insistent on getting our train information far in advance and was somewhat rude in her emails about not having our passport photos, even though the person who greeted us never asked for them. However when we replied with questions about issues with the apartment, we received no replies or assistance. Bottom line, apartment is ideal, but the manager is a bit tricky to work with.

Charming spacious apartment in great location within walls of Lucca
Carolina is an excellent host: easy to communicate with and helpful. She offered to make reservations for us from her personally curated list of great restaurants which were terrific. The unit (up 48 turning steps) is spacious and well appointed. We were welcomed with fresh fruit and lots of info on area attractions.

Spacious apartment on Lucca Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro
Furnished with antiques, this apartment gives the traveler a feeling of authentic Lucca. It is spacious and comfortable.The kitchen is well- stocked, with most things you need to cook there. A Conad grocery is a few blocks away. The check-in process is made easy by clear communication with Carolina and her team. The train station is about a 20 minute walk. If you don’t have much luggage, it is walkable. Taxis can be called from the station. Lucca is an enchanting city, with excellent shopping. The apartment is on the piazza dell’Anfiteatro. This is fun, but there is the constant sound of performers in the piazza in the afternoon, which can not be kept out. This can’t be helped by the owners of the apartment, but just be aware. Also, the bars stay open until late in the evening, and the noise from the patrons is very audible until about one in the morning on most nights. Overall, Lucca is a wonderful smaller city, with preserved atmosphere. The apartment is large and well-furnished, with owners, managers who are very responsive.

Wonderfulpl place, better than expected. She had all the items needed for our 3 day stay including a welcome trayb of fru8it and a bottle of great wine! This is definatley a 5 star! Carolina was our host and her communicastion wes supurb!

Magnifico!
Lucca was the first of 5 stops for our group of four 70+ year olds. I have to confess, the 48 steps up to the apartment were at first daunting (thank you Andrea for helping us with the luggage) but we soon got used to the climb. This apartment is in an excellent location and listening to the various artists in the piazza from our kitchen window was marvelous! It was spotless and cozy with a fully equipped kitchen. Carolina was a big help answering our questions in a very timely manner. Eating at excellent restaurants, biking on the wall circuit, window shopping, and visiting the beautiful cathedrals all added up to an amazing vacation.

Everything We Expected and So Much More
We stayed in this wonderful apartment for 34 days in May-June of 2022. The apartment more than lived up to the VRBO photos, and the location was perfect. We loved spending time looking down upon Piazza Anfiteatro and all the people enjoying themselves, especially the children. I can't find anything that I would change about our experience, not even the stairs. (We are in our mid and late 60's.) After enjoying so much great Italian food, the exercise the stairs provided was welcomed! An added feature of this apartment was the services provided by the owner and "GoGuest.it" Upon arrival, a What's App group text feed was set up for us, and if we had any questions whatsoever during our stay, all we had to do was send a quick text to the group feed and we got a fast response every time. Besides providing restaurant, tour, and other recommendations, they were able to help us when I needed a doctor for back pain. They also recommended a near-by pharmacy that provided excellent service and information. We were met on arrival by Catrina, who explained everything about the apartment to us and answered any further questions we had. When we left, GoGuest also arranged for a taxi to pick us up and deliver us to the airport. Having this service, especially at our age and stage of life made our stay even more comfortable - knowing that there was someone we could text or call if we had any issues, and be able to speak to in English. Thank you so much Lucia, Carolina, Giulia, Agnese, and Catrina! You helped to make our stay in beautiful Lucca an even more wonderful experience.

Amazing apartment in a great location

A charming apartment in a great location
A charming apartment in a great location. The kitchen window looks out into the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, a fabulous view at all times of the day. The apartment is comfortable. It is located in the centre of Lucca near shops and restaurants. The persons who look after the property were very attentive. We appreciated their help. At first the walk up the 47 stone steps to the apartment is a bit of a challenge but one gets accustomed to it quickly. The building is very quiet. The walk to the wall that surrounds the town takes about five minutes. We would return to this apartment without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and atmospheric apartment. Carolina was very responsive to our questions and gave us wonderful suggestions for restaurants and activities. The location is perfect, and there’s a beautiful view of the Piazza Anfiteatro from the kitchen window. We’ll plan to stay here again the next time we come to Lucca.

Lucca at its best
We have visited Lucca on many occasions over the years. It has been our desire to have an apartment overlooking the Piazza Anfiteatro. For us, it is one of the most beautiful piazzas in all of Italy, certainly its most unique in shape and history. This apartment was everything we wanted. It was very comfortable with modern amenities. Giulia was available via WhatsApp (a must more and more these days), met us promptly at the apartment to let us in, showed all the specifics of the apartments, and wished us a happy stay. We didn't have any problems for the entire week. It is important to add this information. Unfortunately, one of us forgot his glasses in the apartment when we left and didn't notice until we were on the train out of town. We contacted Lucia at the agency for the apartment, The glasses were found, and Lucia agreed to have them sent to Rome where we will be staying at a hotel later in the trip, We are certain it will all work out fine, and we are very grateful for her, and the agency's, kindness.

Great location, but long staircase and lots of noise.
The unit has what you need for a vacation stay. The downside of the unit: lots of stairs to climb in order to get to the unit. Not great if you have big pieces of luggage. Although the location it seems amazing on paper, the noise level at night it’s high. Parking it’s complicated, the closest one it’s about 300 meters, again not great if you have lots of luggage. It’s an ideal place if you pack light and want to enjoy everything that Lucca and the old town has to offers. Lots of restaurants options, lots of bakeries, fresh food all around! Overall it was a good experience! The hosts were excellent in every sense, always on top pf everything and willing to help. They also provided lots of useful information provided by them, very useful if you want to get to know the area.

Loving Lucca!
Could not have been better. Even with the lack of WiFi for 2 and 1/2 weeks. The owners tried desperately to have it fixed but it was out of their hands. Luckily I was able to use the free WiFi at the Tabacchi around the corner until problem was solved. Never met the owner personally though she was always available by email. Her representative Carolina was extraordinary. Above and beyond... She was there to greet me and spent an hour going over everything and giving me all kinds of pertinent info about Lucca. She owns a shop called Gong and allowed me to use her free WiFi whenever I needed to. She also recommended a personal guide Maria who took my family and me on a 1 day private tour to Volterra and San Gimagnano. A marvelous tour! Highly recommend this apt. and would rent again when I return to Lucca. Word of caution: there are close to 50 steps to get to apt. I travel with only a backpack so not a problem for me. Perfect ‘Room with a View’
This property is perfect! On the second leg of our holiday in Tuscany we arrived in Lucca a little hot and bothered but soon forgot heat when we walked into this amazing air conditioned apartment and were offered cold water from the fridge and a beautiful selection of fresh fruit. The well appointed kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are spread across two floors and our 3 teenagers were more than happy to share the upper floor. When we opened the kitchen window the piazza was laid out and our daughter especially enjoyed sitting with her book in hand, people watching as she read. We have visited Luca before but this apartment really made our stay special. Do visit one of the evening Puccini performances if you can -great value for money, but book ahead and keep enough cash to pay at the door. There are a lot of stairs up to the appartment which may be a barrier to some but not a problem for our family 🙂.

A ring side seat
This had to be one of most enjoyable experiences I have had. Lucia’s apartment is just amazing. Lucia and her colleagues were truly a delight to work with. Always available with great suggestions of places to visit right down to calling a taxi for us when it was time to leave. The apartment has everything you could want and it just feels homey and warm. The view of the Piazza below with all the hustle and bustle is fantastic. You really feel like you have a ring side seat for a day in the life of Italian culture. I have traveled many places in Italy but had never been to Lucca after coming from Florence it was a pleasant change of pace. Lucca has a quaintness about it that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. I would definitely return to Lucca and if I am lucky, Lucia’s apartment will be available!

Lovely Lucca!
Fantastic location overlooking Piazza Anfiteatro. We could open the window and hear performers below singing Italian opera, etc. Very spacious with all the amenities you could need. Wonderful surprise of proseco and fruit in the refrigerator! We'll definitely come back and stay even longer next time!

We had a fabulous 7 night stay in this wonderful historic apartment overlooking Piazza Anfiteatro. We felt like we lived in Lucca and couldn't have been happier. The apartment was exactly as represented in the photos. We were very comfortable. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who shared many things about the apartment and the town. In addition, fruit, wine, crackers and jams were left for our enjoyment. We didn't need to buy anything to make our stay more like home. I would recommend this apartment for anyone who wants a real Italian experience. The only hesitation might be for those who have mobility issues. The apartment was up 48 stone stairs and may be difficult for some. for us it was worth the climb!

Fantastic flat in the heart of Lucca
This flat was fantastic, right on the main square in Lucca, with A/C that was greatly appreciated with temperatures above 35C. Just be aware that you need to climb a narrow stairway of roughly 7 flights of stairs to reach the flat. The check-in process was very easy and Agnes, the woman who met us, was incredibly hospitable. Grocery stores are close by as is a local bakery and the beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed a wonderful Puccini concert at the Basilica San Giovanni. If you come by car, the Parcheggio Mazzini, at a 10 min walk, is only 1 Euro per hour and 1 Euro per night after 8 pm; just be careful of the ZTL region (they will fine tourists for being in certain areas without a special permit). We used this location to visit the Cinque Terre (about 1-1.5 hrs drive to La Spezia) and we took the train into Pisa for an afternoon to visit the Leaning Tower.

A traditional apartment right in the centre of Lucca overlooking the piazza anfiteatro.
We had a really warm welcome from the owner's agent and found the apartment to be everything we expected. We had all the cooking equipment we needed plus tea and coffee equipment. The view over the piazza provided non stop people watching opportunities and made us feel in the centre of things. The beds were very comfortable and I didn't miss my lovely comfy bed at home!

Purely amazing...
Just amazing...My husband and I along with three of our children stayed here in early June 2018. The apartment was clean, cool, and close to everything. We totally lost ourselves in Lucca. Being right on the Piazza was unlike anything we ever dreamt of. Lucia was great with communication and Guilia was very helpful. We didn’t cook while we were there as the restaurants are abundant but the kitchen seemed to have all we would need. Having a party of five the washing machine was a must as we used it daily. The weather was perfect the views nothing less than spectacular. The master bed and pillows were the BEST out of our 17 days in Europe. What brand pillow and bed was that Lucia? If we can get it at home we will! My husband and son are afraid of heights and the staircase coming up from the street was a bit challenging for them. If you have any mobility issues you will struggle with the stairs- there is no lift. We think the house was perfect and when we return to Lucca we will stay here. Make sure you: Stroll or bike the wall Lose yourself in the streets Go to the Puccini Opera Take the train to Cinque Terra SHOP.... EAT... RELAX.. Think about how soon you can come back. If anyone finds a white stuffed bunny please let Lucia know. My daughter left hers and it has much sentimental value. Grazie~ Becky

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. It provides a wonderful sense of the local history. The apartment is close to many shops, restaurants, markets, and museums/landmarks. As mentioned in other reviews, there are several steps to the apartment so it is not suggested for those unable to use stairs easily. Our hostess, Lucia, and her property assistant, Agnese, were easy to work with and welcoming. Any questions were handled quickly. It was a lovely place to stay and made our visit to Lucca perfect.

A gorgeous apartment, wonderful location
What a great apartment for our stay in Lucca! Our girls loved having their own room and bathroom upstairs. We fully utilised the large kitchen (for our Italian Christmas lunch). The apartment was warm and cosy, and even included some nice Christmas touches. The view over the Piazza was marvellous. Lucia, Carolina and Guilia could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The only downside was climbing those 48 stairs each day.

Incredible location
Besides being in the heart of Lucca's walled city, our contact, Carolina, was perfect, providing great information and responding quickly to all questions and requests. This was critical as one of our party got quite sick during our stay. There is one caution--the four flights of steps would be daunting to those with physical infirmities.

Precisely what we were looking for
The check-in went smooth, but then we have to climb the uneven and high stairs. When we made it we were rewarded by a nice and spacious apartment with an even nicer view to the amfitheatro. Beside the noise from the amfitheatro it was very quiet and we enjoyed having breakfast and sometimes dinner there. Two small drawbacks are first the shower in the top floor, which is not suitable for people over 1,8 meter and second the pillows as well in the upper floor, which partly were sticky and hard. But with the service of the agency and with some sports on the stairs the apartment is worth every Cent spent ;-)

Des vacances de rêves au cœur d’une cité historique de charme.
La beauté et le raffinement de l’appartement avec vue sur la grande place dell’anfiteatro avec ses restaurants et les concerts live tous les jours des artistes ont été un des nombreux points d’orgue de notre séjour avec ma femme et mes enfants de 14 et 18 ans. TOP. Je recommande à 1000 %.
