Great location. Just off the busy street of restaurants blasting music. 5mins walk from Bus stop. Great restaurant onsite if you don't feel like going out. Very helpful staff. Felt safe as a solo traveller.

For other guests to make informed choices, we would like to mention that the hotel is situated in a central and vibrant location, close to many restaurants, and entertainment places and very convenient to travel around the island by public transport. Contrary to your remark, we would also like to mention the friendly and kind nature of our front office team who do their best and go out of their way to make the sojourn of our guests as pleasant as possible. Additionally, we offer a wellness facility, where our guests can enjoy a Sauna or Turkish bath together with the gym and massages to aid in their relaxation while on holiday. The rooms are cleaned daily by our professional housekeeping staff and hence, kept clean for the benefit of our guests. Please note that if you left your 'Do not disturb' card attached to the room, then it will not be cleaned. This hotel needs urget attention rooms we not cleaned the first 2 days when we asked about this we were met with a very aggressive reception. Pool had mould growing around the tiles badly. No chairs or tables on the large balcony again when we asked we were told this is the way they are although their website states they do heve them on their balconies. Manager spent most days out the front of their bar smoking. Food really needs a revamp not great at all. Sad as the front and foyer wete deceiving

The stay here was the second part of a 17 day holiday in Gozo and Malta. On arrival we were allocated our room 404, it is advertised a superior room (that is in size only)!. It overlooked the sea as requested. Within 2 hours it became quite obvious that building work was being carried out very very closely. We reported the noise to the reception desk on our way out to find something to eat. The receptionist told us no work was being carried out! Went to bed, at 6.30am a hammer drill and banging again, a phone call to an irate receptionist "educated me" it was nothing to do with the hotel but she would ask security to look into it. At the end of the 3rd day we went to the reception again and was told nothing had been reported. We eventually spoke to a manager who was both rude and curt and in denial that it was a problem of the Hotels making, however it became clear that the hotel are aware of the noise but legally they cant stop the work from taking place from 8am - Clearly not doing their job, they could involve the police to stop the noise before 8am they just don't. Any way after 3 days we were moved a little further away but the noise was still obvious and still commenced at 6.30. There was no air conditioning in the restaurant or common room areas, the indoor pool was closed for 5 days of our stay and the roof top "paddling pool" was closed for one day. The heat in the dining room at breakfast was unbearable. Rooms clean and house keeping good. The food was edible.

The staff in the dining room were nice.,The desk staff did not pass on my complsintd to the manager, my room door was left open after the cleaner emptied our bin even though i told her not to enter our room and put do not dusturb sign which i took from her. I fail off the chair on the foyer as it moved back when i tried to get up due to slippery tile. I mentioned it all to the manager on my last night and he said that nobody said a thing to him.That was bad as i landed on my knee and 2 men lifted me off the floor.

Great location, easy access for walks, shopping, restaurants and to get the bus. A little noisy Friday and Saturday nights but once the balcony door was shut it was ok. Just unable to have the door open and hear the TV! Breakfast was great every day, loved the dining room and the staff were very nice and attentive. Lobby was spacious and relaxing. I didn't use the indoor pool and.the outdoor pool was still closed but good amenities to have. Room was spacious and loved my sea view despite the work being done over the road. Liked having the refrigerator and being able to cast my apps to the TV was a bonus. Good bath/shower although controlling the water temp could be tricky. Biggest downside for me was lack of a fan or a/c as the room got incredibly stuffy and was difficult to sleep some nights. As a female solo traveller I would never sleep with the balcony door open (as suggested by the gentleman at the front desk) so even a ceiling fan or stand up fan would have been appreciated. Would definitely come back and would recommend to others.

We stayed in room 610 and the view is excellent and spacious. Unfortunately we noticed serious mould on the walls by both doors. Mentioned it to staff at reception and was told casually and dismissively that mould is a normal issue in Malta and we have to live with it. I was shocked at the response because of the possible effect on our health particularly someone that is asthmatic. We have decided that we will not use the hotel again.

The was only water on the first day, no cattle, teat or coffee at all. This is a 4 star facility and it shoul have the basics. Asked for the breakfast box to be ready for pick up at 6:30 before leaving hotel to the airport. Placed the order previous day early in the morning. Unfortunately nothing was prepared. Not even any apology from the staff for that.

Well located hotel in Paceville.
The sea view king suite is extremely comfortable with wonderful views. Great outdoor pool. Good breakfast buffet. Helpful staff. Great barman. Hotel is very well located. Sightseeing bus stop just across the road.

We had a great stay at Golden Tulip - like other reviews hotel is a little dated but not so bad. Breakfast had everything you could wish for including a great omelette / egg station. We spent most mornings watching people take more than they could possibly eat which is a shame and also a lot of people making sandwiches and popping them in their bags . That’s just dirty ! Not the hotels fault just greedy people . We had a lovely suite but sadly no chairs or table on the massive balcony . I asked what looked like the head lady on reception she didn’t seem too keen to help when I asked for some chairs out there and she told me to drag the leather chair from the room outside - there is no way I would leave a leather chair in the sun. So I went back later and got a more helpful younger person who called someone and within 10 mins we had some chairs. Roof top pool was nice but be warned it’s the coldest pool I have ever been in . Surprised peoples hearts don’t stop when they get in - but it was nice and clean just way too cold. Housekeeping was fab and our room was cleaned really well . Everything you need for a great holiday - just bypass the chief on reception because the younger staff way more helpful. Thank you Golden Tulip

Booked a superior room with sea view and balcony, idea being sit on balcony and enjoy sea view. Big balcony but no furniture on it and none on those around us.Told by management that they had removed balcony furniture and were waiting for new to arrive. What sort of management would make that decision and leave customers with no furniture. After nearly two days they managed to supply two white plastic chairs for us to use, nothing given to rooms around us. Not enough loungers around pool either. Could not put bill for bar and restaurant on the room as they were not on the hotel account, not informed of this when booking in. Good breakfast although very busy at peak time, staff here very good. Good size room but needed sprucing up. Bed very comfortable and room very quiet.

St Julian’s Golden Tulip
Good comfort for 2 nights, very close to centre of St Julian’s and party areas. Room was very clean, albeit a bit outdated, but comfortable feel. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning worked well in the heat. Fridge didn’t work too well, but overall a good room. In the breakfast buffet, staff weren’t too friendly in clearing the tables, not enough cutlery on the table, no basic salt and pepper shakers. May need to improve a little on softer side of things. Overall, I’d visit again. However, doesn’t match up to the name golden, as it is missing it’s shining feature which can be improved. In these tough times, they will get through and come back stronger.

The Hotel was very clean and in an area close to a lot of super markets and places to eat. The parking was free of charge for the customers. It is a good location to stay in order to explore malta island.

As for the rooms being next to each other, we never guarantee such requests and in our replies we insist to mention that this is subject to availability at the time of your stay. Obviously, there was no availability to accommodate your request upon your stay. Moving on to the AC, we have a centralised system and it cannot be that two out of three rooms do not work. They either all work or none work as they are centralised and not stand alone ACs. With regards to the 4 star rating, we would like to mention that the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) which is the Maltese tourism industry regulator periodically comes to check and ensures that the hotel meets the 4 star standards’ requirements. Awful hotel
I would avoid at all cost. The aircon didn’t work properly. We booked 3 rooms in the same name and they refused to put the rooms next to each other despite booking them well in advance and making a note they needed to be next to me eachother. After constant begging over 2 days, they eventually put us on on the same floor. The staff are very rude. Aircon was awful and doesn’t work properly in 2 of 3 rooms. WiFi is awful and switches off every 15 minutes. Key cards for rooms were very temperamental. They had to change the battery in the lock twice. Only positive thing I can say is the cleaners were good and were tge only people that knew what they were doing. Otherwise avoid this hotel at all costs. You’re better off staying in a hostel as this is not a 4* hotel!
