Marathon is a quaint west Texas town with a public park, gardens, restaurants and shopping. It also has a level 1 night sky rating for star gazing. Located 40 minutes from Big Bend National Park entrance, this is a launch point to explore the national park as well as other West Texas parks and communities. The studio is well laid out for up to 2 adults with a queen size bed and semi-firm latex mattress. This place is located in the neighborhood but feels very secluded on the acre lot and you're facing an open plain with a beautiful view and a great opportunity to catch some amazing sunsets. This place is well appointed throughout, too many great things to list. The listing gives a great detailed description. We appreciate the builtin indoor/outdoor speakers, dark roast coffee beans, great lighting, usb plugins, comfy bed, and a great shower! Thank you Jim for creating a great gem of a place to stay at. There’s a small but nice park not far from the house and several local restaurants. The grocery store is small but has a little bit of everything, just expect to pay double. I was a bit sticker shocked. There is a bigger grivery store in Alpine with reasonable prices about 30 min away. Big Bend isn’t too far from this location.Overall a great place to stay.
