Hotel is an okay hotel with a lot of historic charm. The beautiful antique/colonial style gives the property character, and the location is very convenient. However, the hotel is definitely showing its age and is in need of better maintenance and some updating. With a little more attention to the rooms and facilities, it could be a much nicer experience. Overall, a decent stay if you appreciate historic hotels.

Clean and beautiful hotel in central Merida, right by the main plaza and the market. It is in an old building but the staff do a great job of maintaining it and it has a lot of charm. I appreciated the consistent hot water and that the area is quiet even though it is near the main square. I would stay here again. It could only be better if it had a pool and/or jacuzzi.

This is a grand, historic hotel that has been kept in its original rustically-ornate format. For its day it would have been 5 stars and very ornate. If you like history that has been well-maintained in an original fashion, you'll love this property.
