All the Hotel Breakwater staff displayed utmost professionalism and kindness even as they suffered a devasting loss of AC during our stay. They quickly and courteously transferred our remaining two night stay to their sister hotel, The Beacon just a few blocks away. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Breakwater

I booked a balcony suite here for 4 days the second night into my stay the air conditioning went out In the entire building and it was a baby roach in the bathroom sink I stayed off the property gone doing excursions they said it would be fixed by that evening which was Friday when I arrived back the air was still broken they told us to go to the beacon hotel they had a room for us when I tell y’all the room we got was nothing like the room I laid $1300 for didn’t have a pool no balcony no view the room looked like a jail cell at the beacon hotel I’m currently trying to get a refund they also tell u it’s complementary breakfast at the hotel it’s not u have to get a voucher everyday and walk 2 blocks down to the beacon hotel to eat mediocre breakfast.
The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. I felt like I was inconveniencing them when I asked questions.
Our air conditioner was broken as well as the reading lamp in our tiny room.
I would never return to this hotel.
This was a very nice place, especially for 100 years old.
I would highly recommend this a must stay for anyone.
Another plus is it's centrally located, walk anywhere.
They really don’t care about this property. The first room they advertise as a pull out bed had gross stains on it like someone was sick. They move us to another room and the couch was the same. Told front desk and they acted like to as nothing they could do. Do not stay at this hotel
Nice property, needed some upkeep, but good location.

Stinky cold room, the only fix, maintenance guy completely shut our air off, then it was hot, wet bed spread, poor quality bed, and this room was nearly 500 per night. Not worth it it smelled like a combo or chlorine and mildew. On a positive view staff was really responsive, brought me a new bed spread, sent maintenance guy right away.
I was traveling alone with my teenage daughter, and this was a great place to be in the thick of ocean Drive to really get the full experience. My daughter loved it. The room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet at night after things quieted down.
Nice hotel, spacious room, has all you need for a great stay. The restaurant in the hotel Havana 1957 Is very good and the location on ocean Drive near everything and in front of the Beach Is perfect. We could hear some restaurant noices from our room but it wasnt too bad. The only blemish, the perdón at check in was as warm and welcoming as the rest of the staff but did her job.
We were directed to a tiny room directly above the small lobby. It would have been barely ok except for the band downstairs in the bar lobby and the band outside the window in the street. It was so loud a conversation could not be had. The hotel apologized profusely, but had no other room and told us we would need to get our refund from Expedia since that’s who we paid. We booked a room through Expedia at Hotel Balfour and walked 1/2 mile down the street. Now Expedia sees I paid them for two hotel rooms that night and have thus far refused the refund. We’ll see.
When we arrived at the property we were told they didn’t have our reservation & I needed to pay him $200 cash on top of what I paid through Expedia. The roads were shut down around the property & cab dropped us 3 blocks away. Beds were uncomfortable & room was small. Total scam!
Close to the beach and clean room with nice bathroom. Night time got really noisy outside, but I asked for ear plugs at the front desk and it worked great for me next night. Kids enjoyed the pool and we loved breakfast here.
Its very weird to go to breakwater and go through a restaurant and Gelato store to get to our room but it wasnt too bad. The rooms were very clean and didnt smell like mold like other places we been to, very clean. Just that transition was very surprising but to be right across the clevelander and ocean drive was worth the money. Breakfast was included and was good, so it was a good time. Music was loud all around, but the hotel has really good soundproofing in the rooms.
Great location. Nostalgic feeling . Friendly staff. Would have preferred to order off menu for breakfast rather than buffet. This would have improved the overall experience. Would have enjoyed the outside street patio rather then the back courtyard for morning breakfast.
No ice machine on our floor.
Ice machine one floor down broken.
No drawers for clothes. No luggage racks. Had to get clothes from suitcase on floor.
Noise from restaurant too loud. Went on past midnight.
