I cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel. Absolutely stunning property, could here the waterfall in the background. Warm and friendly environment. Amazing food, best meal of the trip.
Staff and service were amazing. Room was ckean and comfortable. Both evening meal and breakfast were exceptional with good portion size and very good choice/food. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully stay again in the near future
If you are after a place with contemporary interior with excellent food and service next to a natural beauty spot (Devils Bridge) then this hotel is for you. Oh, if you are Hinterland fan then this is a must.We were going to spend just one night but ended up staying for two nights at two different rooms - both excellent. They open only in w/e in January so don't hesitate book it quick.
Fantastic location. A bit pricey but well worth it. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Electric heaters in the bedrooms are a challenge but ok once you work it out and essential because of huge gaps in the windows with freezing drafts being on top of the valley. Windows need an urgent refurb. Large car park that looks rough but is safe in this area. Short walk to stunning Devils Bridge falls and steam railway to Aberystwyth with stunning Rheidol Valley. Highly recommended for a short trip. Fab.
We stayed for one night over NYE and had the most amazing time- had never been here before and it was so lovely! Staff were great and attended to everything we needed. Food was great quality and nice selection. Our room was amazing, the comfiest bed! And beautiful views out our window. Could not fault anything and would absolutely recommend.
Absolutely delighted with my stay at this beautiful hotel nestled in a stunning location. The surroundings were breathtaking, offering a tranquil escape. The attention to detail in the hotel's design and decor added to the overall charm.
The culinary experience exceeded expectations; the food was not only delicious but also presented with artistic flair.
The staff's hospitality was outstanding – warm, attentive, and always ready to assist. Their local knowledge and recommendations enhanced my exploration of the area. The seamless service truly contributed to a memorable and relaxing stay.
The hotel throughout was well presented and clean. The room was comfortable and clean. Nice bed and bedding.
The evening meal and breakfast was lovely and plenty of it. The staff are friendly and it has a laid back feel.
Lovely location.
Best: The staff and service!
Wide variety of food mostly very well done.
Unique boutique hotel w/15 rooms. Nothing else comes close in the area.
Cons: No lift (elevator) but that comes with a refurbished building this old. Renovations are continuing.
Story: We decided to tour Wales by train so we didn’t have a car. Took the Rheidol steam train out from Aberystwyth which is a day/trip tourist train not normally used for regular commuting. They do have secured luggage storage for the trip though.
Getting to the Hafod Hotel was little bit of a chore do to us having four bags.(some gravel and downhill). Packing small would be an advantage. Stayed three nights. The Devil’s Bridge area is beautiful with waterfalls being the highlight. Trekking through the two separate paths is not for the lighthearted….a bit of a workout but very rewarding!
Talked to the staff about getting back up to the Rheidol station and one of them actually gave us and or bags a ride back up! Above and beyond! We gave him a separate tip. Overall the staff was excellent in attitude and service!
We were travelling as a family and had a really relaxing wonderful stay at The Hafod Hotel. The service was great, the hotel is really lovely and the views were stunning. Food was delicious too. Would definitely like to stay here again.
Love this hotel, we've visited for years for food or drinks so was looking forward to spending my birthday here, especially following the lovely refurbishment. We miss the quirky old toilets but everything has been thought of for comfort. Service has been excellent and very friendly, and the food is lovely. Will definitely stay here again.
We arrived late due to traffic but were met with immediate warmth (staff and food!). We were really well looked after throughout, staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself has been beautifully renovated. It was lovely to see so many original features preserved, and enhanced. Our room was especially nice, the bed was very comfortable. Everything we needed for a shortbread was provided.
The food was great, matched the quality of the hotel itself. We were throughly impressed and enjoyed a really great stay.
The general hotel was excellant, very clean. Problem I had was there was no heating on in my room. I had to call staff to switch on which took az number of hours to wamrm/
Lovely room, not big but was fine for us. Extremely clean, fabulous shower, nice toiletries. Staff were fabulous, very helpful and friendly. Good food, nice choice for breakfast, lovely Sunday Roast . Very close to the waterfall entrance and near to the steam train . Would highly recommend
Service good in restaurant and food excellent
One issue that was a problem was lack of experienced reliable staff available Saturday PM 2pm. On arrival I asked for a bottle of prosecco in room which I had to remind the very young staff about 3 times. Also no coat hangers in room and had to ask 3 times. Eventually a manager got hold of my requests and sorted them but it was hard work
Staff are very helpful especially the one who checked in for us. Love the design of the hotel and the outdoor restaurant. Parking area is nearby the hotel.
We were delighted with our stay at the hotel. The hotel is in a stunning location, the rooms and common areas are all very comfortable and decorated to a very high standard, the staff were all extremely personable and helpful and the food was great.
We stayed as my daughter was graduating in Aberystwyth University.
We ate outside in the evening, enjoyed it so much we came back for lunch the following day. I have to congratulate you for employing the most amazing host. He asked me how our stay was and when we came back for lunch he asked me how the graduation went. It’s the little things that go a long way. Hotel room was amazing, clean and comfortable. Thankyou for letting us stay at your hotel.
Great service. Really nice rooms and the food offering was excellent. Simple menu but done really, really well. What we ate was all homemade. We will return.
