Adorable crab cottage

Very affordable cottage right among the beach grass and beach. Quiet despite close proximity to other cottages. Excellent heat, WiFi and amenities. Our Shiba Inu dog is now in love with the beach.

Crab cottage

The crab cottage is not really big enough to accommodate 6 . The loft is small and tall person could not stand up. Ladder was extremely steep. Views were great and accessible to beach awesome. Very clean

So cozy and relaxing.

The two of us really enjoyed our stay here and it was exactly what we wanted. We loved the rustic and old feel of the cabin and it was the perfect size for us to relax by the ocean! Hopefully will come back another day.

Great beach getaway

Great house. Perfect location. We really liked the fireplace and the view is awesome. Does need some attention and finish work. Would stay here again.

Retro funky fun

The proximity to the beach and the view from inside as well as the fire pit can’t be beat! The cottage is your old fashioned funky beach shack. The beds are comfortable and the furniture adequate. Just make sure that you request a thorough cleaning!

First time at the Pacific

It was both mine and my partners first time at the Pacific Ocean. Wonderful space to stay! I loved the charming cottage and the location was amazing! A short drive to Olympic National Park and Forrest. Would absolutely stay again if and when we come to Washington from PA again!

Beautiful and serene

This was such a cozy cottage with a peaceful and serene view. We loved waking up every morning to the sounds of the ocean and seeing the view from our bed downstairs. The upstairs feels a little cramped and stairs are steep but since it was just two of us we didn’t use it. It was wonderful that we got to bring our two dogs they loved sitting at the window too!

The beach is everything

Loved having the beach Right There! Cozy & funky place with lots of space heaters for warmth. Still big issues with WiFi and cleanliness. Bring your own extra blankets because there are none provided. Would think twice before staying again, and would only do it because of the beach.

Pros: Very cozy inside and out. Well-kept yard and path to beach. Cons: We could not find a key to lock the digital lock and we were not told if there is a key. We had to leave the cottage unlocked when we were exploring, and when we departed. The toilet paper provided was absolutely not useful - it had to be folded at least 8 times to be sanitary. We bought our own at the local store.

Crab Cottage

The little cottage is exactly as described. It is very tiny but adorable and comfortable. Some cons would be that the stairs to the loft are a little steep but our child used them with no problems. The only real issue we had was that the BBQ Grill is advertised as a propane/gas grill but when we arrived it was a charcoal grill. And due to the fire bans we had to use the kitchen stove but thankfully it did come supplied with pots/pans. Some of the appliances, furniture and bathroom are a little outdated...but what this little cottage lacks in extra amenities is definitely made up for with the ocean views and easy access to the beach with private paths leading directly from the back yard. If you do not need all the extra bells and whistles or traveling with kids and pets this place is perfect. It does have a camping/cabin feel, which we love. We would definitely stay again!

Wasn’t happy

Much smaller than it looks, sleeping 6 would be very crowded. Internet didn’t work, no landline or reception for cell service. Fireplace didn’t work. Needs a lot of work all together.

Not as pictured

This property needs a major makeover. It is very worn out and parts were just gross. I must say the kitchen area,, bathroom area and bedding was clean. Then rest was just old and dusty. Outside the benches were covered in grime and mold. The grill was a joke as were the grill utensils. Kitchen was poorly stocked. We’ve stayed in many rentals and this one is the first that never made the mark. For the first time, we left after one night (it was too late at night to leave) and forfeited two nights fees. Oh- the flooring- five different kinds- peeling and ripped linoleum and so dirty. The floor was so spongy and rotting in places, we thought our foot may go through.

Full Septic Tank

When we checked in there was sand and dirt in shower. The internet did not work. The BBQ was not in working order. The toilet flooded the first night poop water flooded kitchen. We called Vacasa international and they said they would reach out to owner, no one ever called. The next day toilet backed up again, called again they said they would reach out to owner and get back to us, no call back. Later same day septic alarm goes off. We call again, told again they would reach out to owners, again no call nothing. We where told by Vacasa International that we would get a full refund. Next day we wait for house keeping. Inform them my husband has cleaned up poopy water twice , had bleach spilled on him. They call the owner we where informed full refund. Finally maintenance comes out. Says the septic system is full.

Amazing location, fun cottage, but needs some serious attention

We loved our stay at the Crab Cottage. The location is absolutely perfect, the cottage itself is cozy and fun and has a great history, and we lucked out on amazing sunny weather while we were there. Overall, we recommend the Crab Cottage for small families or a single/couple. But we loved it so much, we feel obligated to address some necessary fixes that really need to be made in order for the cottage to thrive once again: - The door nearest the ocean doesn't latch at all, therefore it's not possible to lock the door. I had to fix it with my multi-tool just to get it to even close at all. When we slept, we put a chair in front of the door. When we left, we took our valuables. The door itself is also falling apart and doesn't open all the way. This is really unacceptable for a cottage that is generating income, and it was clear that the door had been this way for quite a while. Why not call to have it fixed? Because I'm on vacation, and I have enough projects of my own at home - I shouldn't need to coordinate someone else's fix for something that has clearly been that way for a while. - The dining table is broken, and slopes badly. It makes dining and playing games a bit of a challenge. Again, this is an easy and cheap fix, and requires a minimal amount of care from the owner. - The bathroom floor is a season or two away from collapse. - The kitchen lacked basic amenities, like oven mitts (shown in the photo but not present), and there were only three full-sized plates available, and four forks. These things are easily remedied with $20 and a trip to the thrift store. - There is exposed fiberglass insulation in places - not only unsightly, but not good to breath and should be covered up. There is also exposed wiring outside of the back door, at low enough level for kids to touch. With all of these issues, we STILL loved the place. Which is why it's frustrating to see such minor issues - things that are easily fixed with one or two nights' worth of rental income and a minimal amount of caring. I can't imagine having such disregard for a place that I was renting to other families. Some of the issues present are things I would quickly fix if they occurred in a backyard shed, let alone a rental cottage on the beach. I only say this as a means of perhaps motivating the owner to put some effort into preserving what is a real treasure of a beach cottage, so that it may be enjoyed by families for many years to come.

Overall this was the perfect little cottage to stay in. Only complaint is there was no internet and service on phones in the cottage was spotty at best. We would have been more safe/comfortable if the internet would have worked.

Bestie Hideaway

Great place, would stay again :)

Great place to stay, and would definitely stay again. Really nice place and a really nice area out back with fire pit, and easy access to the beach. They have a nice grill. Pictures and description need updates on Vrbo, due to TV being bigger and better than the description, and it also has a Roku, which is great. Needs a sign on side of the fridge, to point out the light switch hidden behind it.

Cozy, clean, and close to the beach!

Loved it - can walk right out the back door to the beach. The cottage is clean, warm and cozy and fully equipped with anything you’d need for a short or longer stay. We look forward to coming back!

Relaxing

This little cottage was a perfect getaway for a much needed escape from the daily grind. I was very happy to have such a perfect view of the waves, even closed up you could hear the sounds of the ocean. A summer visit would be amazing, the back yard is perfect.

Little Beach Cottage

We loved this place. Tiny, old and a little rough around the edges, sure, but everything you need is there, is functional, and is as advertised. It's cozy and most importantly, you won't find a better location and view. The ocean is Pacific Ocean is your backyard.
