DO NOT STAY at this "Hotel". It was over priced, inflexible and incredibly sparse. A BIG disappointment.
The entrance is non-descript; feels like you are entering an apartment building, have to be rung in and then proceed to the 5th floor to "check in" where the "Front Desk" doubles as a bar!
The "hotel" is being run by a group of young adults, with attitude, who are dressed for the gym. I went upstairs for a cocktail and the bar was full of more young adults who I suspect were not paying guests rather friends of the staff.
The "hotel" offers none of the traditional amenities and justifies this approach as a "new concept".
NO Mini-Fridge
NO Coffee Maker
NO Wall decor
NO ability to control temp in room.I was told that Europeans like their temp warmer than Americans.
Every time I tried to cool the room, the temp would creep back to original setting.
STRANGE lighting system. Main switch at front door would turn on ALL the lights and then one by one you had to turn them off.
POOR Bathroom design - open shower with inefficient drain as a result you end up with a flooded bathroom floor which needs to be mopped up with towels. When I brought this to the attention of a "staff" member, his answer, "I can provide you with more towels". Oblivious to the mess and danger of slippery wet tiles!
BREAKFAST - over priced, limited options, poorly serviced and poorly maintained.
Haus im Tal tarnsihed our stay in Munich that my daughters and I were so excited about....
