Search for National Car Rentals

In most locations the renter must be 25 yrs of age with a valid driver's license and a major credit card in his/her own name. However, each country and state has unique rules around car rental ages.

National Car Rental's minimum age to rent vehicle is 21 years of age. Drivers aged 21-24 will pay a daily young renter fee and may be restricted to specific car classes.

Car rental companies in the US do not impose upper age limits or mature driver surcharges, but this is the case in some countries if in doubt, check in advance with the National branch you'll be renting from.

National's wide range of rental vehicles varies depending on location, but it generally includes different car classes (standard, full size, midsize, premium), trucks, SUVs, and vans.

Simple and affordable vehicles include Mitsubishi Mirage Nissan and Versa or go for something more upscale like a Ford Mustang or Cadillac XTS.

All Drivers must:

• Meet the renting location's minimum age requirements.
• Present a valid driver's license.
• Present a major credit card in their name at the time of rental
• Meet the requirements based on their deposit type. (See Methods of Payment)

In destinations outside the US, you'll need your passport. In a few countries, an international driving permit is also a requirement to rent a car from National.

Airport Rental Locations in the US and Canada: Vehicles will be held until the end of the business day on the scheduled pickup date or for 12 hours, whichever comes first, for any delayed flights.

If you are arriving after closing, the pickup date and time should be changed to the next day. Rental charges will begin at date and time of pick up as long as the flight information is included, the location will remain open for up to 2 hours.
